Saturday was the type of day when you either bundle up and go outside and enjoy the first really cold day of the winter or other than a quick trip to the store for RV anti-freeze you stay in like I did LOL I wimped out – the wind was so cold – high was 48 and that was first thing in the morning – right now as I wrote this last night at about 6:30 Saturday night it was already in the 30’s and heading to a low of 25 by morning. We didn’t get any snow but some parts of Arkansas here and there had flurries. Nothing like you folks in the north got just flurries. Mike did get the RV taken care of and it is winterized. I took care of the outside garden hoses on Friday when the weather was still nice outside as we knew in advance of the freeze we were to get Saturday night. Ok enough whining about cold weather – nothing like you all in the north have I know.
I was busy Saturday with all kinds of projects. First off I had told Melanie I would get her table topper hemmed and I steamed pressed it too – it looks so good, I put it on my table with a candlestick to show it off for her. edited: (too many have said I made tiny stitches – this is my daughters work – not mine)
A close up of those tiny stitches on linen. That’s all I can say about it – it is a gift for someone.
I actually got one more Postage Stamp quilt block made and the two rows above it are now sewn together as well. Been asked how big will it be – most likely queen size – I am thinking of making a applique border for around it with big bright flowers with embroidery possibly on them as well – a project that will go on all of next year I’m sure.
I decided I had to fix the two Wagon’s West blocks that I showed yesterday – after pressing I could tell they were just too off to fix – that is what happens when you try to work on something like this at the same time you are watching “The Walking Dead” trying to keep track of the zombies and seeing if they are biting or scratching anyone – which means death – can be a bit of a distraction LOL – that is the show that we are watching with Melanie every week when she comes over for supper – a bit of a routine we started last year – supper and then stitching, talking and watching a series together on Netflix. One of these blocks was from last week and it had turned out perfect – the one with the orange on it was a mess and got re-done. All blocks will be squared up when finished but it looks so much better than it had – I still need to get busy with the seam ripper on the other block and start over – linking to Kathy’s Quilts: Slow Sunday Stitching .
Another project for today is to prep all of these circles and get them ready for applique for the Quilty 365 project. I think I will have 26 squares when these are finished – or should I say circles LOL.
I have been asked what is that white board on the quilting frame for – a little table to keep my laptop off the quilt – an air space if you will – it does get hot and some that were concerned let me know about it earlier this year after someone heard of a fire starting from a computer – I don’t know if it had been sitting on a quilt like I had been doing or if it was on a bed or what – it got too hot from lack of a cooling off space and fire started. So I use this sewing machine insert that goes with my SewEzi table – if you want to make the table completely into a desk and remove the machine you put this board in place – I have a piece of slip proof cabinet liner on top and under the board to keep it in place and to keep the computer from slipping off. It has been working out well – then I have my Netflix going while I quilt.
This much of the border left to do on Diamonds are Forever. My hands tend to get cold at this time of year so I have the support gloves with the half fingers near by to keep my hands warmer. A little awkward at first to get used to but once you get use to them they work for keeping your hands warm and to give support.

I enjoyed the closeup of the cross stitch…so many tiny, perfect stitches !
We went up to about 55 degrees on Saturday afternoon and supposedly it will climb to that on Thanksgiving but starting now and until then we will have the cold weather too; lows in the 20’s.
Wow, Melanie’s work is just beautiful. Those tiny little stitches are perfect! I’ve done some cross stitching, but nothing that large or intricate. Wow. I’m so impressed.
A shame that you had to rip and restitch on your Wagons West block, but I know you’ll be happier in the long run.
I love your progress so far on your DAF.
It’s cold here, too … we were in Jacksonville (about an hour and a half to the north) yesterday where we saw a bit of snow … it stuck to grass and to cars but the roads were too warm. Our neighbors reported a little snowing here, but nothing accumulated.
the weather is crazy this year I think! So hot this summer… now cold so early in the year.. it is currently 68 here this morning but to be in the low 50’s tomorrow morning… NOT looking forward to that for sure!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Melanie’s finished work… what a keepsake that is.. and on linen.. I used to do cross stitching on linen and loved the finished look too! I just don’t have it in me anymore though.. so happy you shared her finish with us…
Your quilty progress is awesome in all your projects! Soon you will be rolling your frame… and those postage stamp blocks will look great with an embroidered appliqued border around them all 🙂 Lovely start on more circles too! Have a blessed Sunday and stay warm inside!

Melanie’s embroidery is just exquisite! It’s a lovely piece. Those Wagons West blocks are really coming out nicely. Love seeing the progress when you’re quilting!
Those tiny stitches are superb, what a lovely gift you poured your heart into. You have some lovely quilt projects going.
Your work is outstanding and you have been extremely busy. Your tiny stitches in the table topper are amazing. Beautiful projects.
Love how the circles are coming along. Hope you manage to stay inside where it is warm. Perfect excuse to stay in and quilt.
Melanie did a wonderful job on the table topper.. beautiful stitches! l like your plan for the postage stamp quilt. Diamonds is looking great, too.
Congratulations to your daughter, that is some beautiful cross stitch. A wonderful gift!
Your wagon wheels look really nice and crisp. And a big floral border on your postage stamps sounds fantastic! The contrast will be lots of fun. I hope you had a productive day!
You are the quintessential multi-tasker. LOL. Guess that does not always work in your favor. All your projects are lovely.
