Yup – the quilt is growing. I draped the Postage Stamp top over the quilting frame to make sure of correct placement for the blocks – they need to be turned every other block and I didn’t want to have to get the seam ripper out. The quilt frame comes in so handy for many things.
I got the 9th row sewn onto the quilt and spread it over the bed to see what the length was like – almost but not long enough. It was as I thought, to have enough at the end of the bed I need one more row. So 8 more blocks are needed at least – I will check again when row #10 is attached to the quilt. Yes the sides are short – there will be 15 inch wide borders added to the sides with the applique on them.
I got busy in the late afternoon making more – 2 of the 8 needed are now done – pressed and trimmed after this photo was taken. I am linking to Confessions of a Fabric Addict today and Crazy Mom Quilts.

I did some searching on line for my batting for the next quilt – I had decided on Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 – Craftsy had it at but not in the size I wanted (king size) and a sale starts today but with shipping and handling it would most likely still be $25 – Connecting Threads has a sale going on too and it was $20.99 on sale – but again Sh.&H if less than $75 ordered – I checked on line for Hobby Lobby – my one and only local source – I didn’t ever remember seeing it there but the on line store said they did – so off I went to the store and low and behold – one king size on the shelf – I grabbed it – with my 40% off coupon after taxes I paid $19.61 for my batting – I was happy!

My next Caswell block is picked out and the patterns made on freezer paper – ready to pick out fabric from the stash —
For three days only, Craftsy is discounting its crafting supplies. Get great deals on art supplies, fabric, yarn, baking tools and more. Browse the sale prices now before the best products are gone! Starts this morning Friday January 29th through Sunday January 31st.
I am almost out of my very white fabric that I like to keep on hand so I am ordering my RJR crisp white fabric that I like – 8.5 yards for $40.80 – a very good price!! This is the white fabric that is in my Wagon’s West quilt – I know I need more to finish that quilt and I’m so glad it was on sale again.

Love the deal you got on your batting! I am about to go check out my local Hobby Lobby for a few things… may need to wander into the fabric section and see if they carry it here too! Would be nice to support my local store for sure !!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE how your postage stamp quilt is coming along… I am VERY excited for this last row to get done… the clamshell style design with flowers in wool you are planning for the applique has me VERY excited to see it also come to life!
Love all the your next Caswell block.. esp that little butterfly! Hope you have another good day today friend! Kathi
Glad that you got a good deal on the batting! 🙂
Sometimes when on sale I buy 6 battingsfrom CT ( sizes I always use) and then there’s no shipping and I don’t have to worry about having battings for a few months.
I wondered how your postage stamp quilt would look with half blocks around the outside? Or a thin border then a row of half blocks before you add the applique border?
I really like the looks of your quilt. The mix of colors just sparkle.
Suzanne my border is already planned out
I love this quilt – would love to have the patience to make one this large some day!
Great deal on the batting! I usually buy from Hancocks when they offer 20% off.
Love your postage stamp quilt! Great way to use up those bits and pieces. I have one too, hope to get the batting today. 🙂
