Nearing The End

I was out for a good share of the day yesterday.  I was in Little Rock for my rheumatology check up and lab work that I do about every 3-4 months.  I spent a much longer time then normal at the clinic – the lab was so backed up – unbelievable – I spent 55 minutes waiting for my turn to get blood drawn – it never takes that long, I walked in the waiting room at the lab and couldn’t believe it, no chairs available, people were leaning against the walls.  I finally got a chair after about 10 minutes and gave it up to a woman much older than I a short while later – she looked like she would not be able to stand and then got a chair again a short while later.  I then had a later than normal lunch and did a little shopping.

So not much sewing was done.  I did get home in the middle of the afternoon and spent some time walking around outside breathing in the fresh air – it got up to 60 degrees and the afternoon was sunny.  I had done a little shopping while in Little Rock but I hadn’t really gotten in a good walk.

Diamonds are Forever will be done by the end of the week – maybe.  At the rate I am going I think it will be.  Trying to get a photo is hard sometimes but this is the last little bit on the frame – I am almost half way done with the last border.

For those of you who do not remember what this quilt looked like this is it folded over the frame along with the backing fabric before I cut the edges square.

The daffodils along the front tree line of the property.  I can see I need to grab a trash bag on my next walk around the property and pick up trash that people toss from their cars or have flying out of the back of their pick up trucks.  It isn’t so noticeable in this photo but there was trash flown in by the trees and brush.  I am linking my flowers to Quilt Story today so others will know spring really is on it’s way here in the states.

Would you believe the second half of February is supposed to be from about 60-74 degrees – I’m amazed, it has happened before of course but frequently if the second half of February is so nice then we get some cold spells in March – not always of course but often.  I will not be looking forward to anymore cold weather if the forecast comes true.

Thanks for all the nice compliments on the new quilt yesterday – I hope to get to it today but I have housework to catch up on and laundry as well as grocery shopping – the doctor appointment yesterday threw my schedule off!

I am so excited for you to get Diamonds off the frame and bound and WASHED!!! lol This quilt is gonna be stellar when completed I think! I hope you plan to enter this in a show or something .. I know you usually don’t .. but take good pics of it in case you change your mind after looking at this one on your bed for a bit!!!
We have lots of doctor appointments around here at times and it does throw your whole schedule off I agree… and getting caught in the madhouse of other people is not fun either! I hope you get to work on your new quilt today… will enjoy watching your vision come to life on that one 🙂 Kathi

After sub-zero temps, we are having rain turning to wintry mix turning back to snow a bit later so needless to say I am marveling at your daffodils. I am still surprised at how early spring comes to other States….a reader noticed my botanical quilt top yesterday which has an iris block in it and told me that HER irises are currently blooming! That is months off for my location! 🙂

Love the daffodils Karen! And like you I am so disappointed at the way people respect our beautiful earth with rubbish – one wonders what their homes must look like! I am enjoying the progress of your version of Caswell……nice to see something a little different with the design.Take care x
