I think the borders will work out ok that I showed yesterday. I do not have a block finished though to share – I am prepped the smaller ovals that go on the design then they need to stitch down – they are fiddly little pieces! I was cleaning off a shelve looking at some of the light beige colors I will be using for the background squares and found this!
Some of you might remember that I briefly thought about making an apple core quilt last year – the idea soon failed as I got tired of sewing those curves – this piece is big enough for a little table covering to put a knick knack on or maybe a tray cover for a pot of tea? Something like that – I’m not sure if I will quilt it by hand or machine – either way would not take very long.
About half way done with the 5th row on the Winter Wonderland quilt and I have finished both the latest seasons of “Bosch” and “House of Cards” – on to something else – you can really go through a lot of shows when watching/listening while quilting. The one series I have not finished yet is “House” and I am on the 6th season of that but that one I watch on my phone while I exercise LOL – really – stick in the ear buds and prop it on the treadmill or bike and it makes the time go by faster.
The cutting table is a mess right now – and I really don’t think it will get straightened out any time soon!

I thought you’d made a sewing machine cover with those cores! 🙂
I agree with Deb when I first saw the cores I thought it was covering your sewing machine. Really cute as any of the things you are thinking about doing.
Looks like it is unanimous! I also thought of a sewing machine cover. Or a mat for under your machine. I tend to keep one under my machine, but don’t allow the machine to idle long enough to bother covering it. Making an apple core quilt has always intrigued me. I will keep in mind how much work is involved and plan for a small project too!
Love the little apple core piece! I do remember you working on it, and, honestly, I thought you had made it into a table runner! Shows how well my memory works, huh?!
Anyway, anxious to see what you really do with it….
You are moving right along with the quilting on Winter Wonderland….
Hadn’t heard of Bosch – will check it out. I generally watch cooking shows while doing hand sewing – living vicariously! Happy Easter.
