I got so much done yesterday I tired myself out!! So many projects – here we go:
Quilty 365 – The Final Frontier – I got a lot of circles prepped and ready to stitched – about 15 big circles if I can see them right and 12 small circles.
Two yards of the Indigo Fossil Ferns pressed and ready to start cutting into 1.5 inch strips for in between the circle blocks. I think the photo shows it a little lighter than it actually is. I am linking to Quilting is More Fun Than Housework today and Kathy’s Quilts: Slow Sunday Stitching.
The Postage Stamp quilt progress – out of all the wool I snipped little bits and took to the store in search of thread the other day with my daughter. I wanted to use Pearl Cotton, but we have very little here in my local area and to match up threads on line is impossible. I decided to go with embroidery thread instead and will probably use two or three strands when stitching – I will try it out and see. I taped to paper a little snippet of each with the number thread so if I need more I know what I got.
the greens for leaves and stems. I hadn’t noticed I only got one shade for the darker greens so might need to pick up more.
and the wools and threads for the flowers and possibly butterflies. I did stitch more clamshells but didn’t take a photo – about half way done with that border of shells now.
Winter Wonderland progress in the evening. Photo is just a little blurry I didn’t notice that until now.
Craftsy’s supply sale LAST day ends tonight. Craft project kits and supplies from your favorite brands and designers are discounted to at least 40% – time to stock up. Thank you all that have ordered through my links I appreciate it.
By the way all of my Fossil Fern Fabric for The Final Frontier – Quilty 365 is a Craftsy purchase – a real deal when on sale.
(I am compensated for any purchases made through my links.)

I love days like that! Can’t wait to see your wool project! I think the fossil fern fabric is going to be perfect! XO
Wow, you did get a lot finished! I took a Sue Spargo class and she suggested the use of silk thread to sew the wool pieces down. One instructor (can’t remember her name) only uses three colors: a grayish, a greenish and a taupe– sewing them down with tiny stitches. One of my friends makes lovely wool applique pieces and she uses only the silk thread to stitch them down and no additional embellishment stitches. I sew mine down with Valdani and use embellishment like blanket, around the edges.
Wow, you *were* busy, weren’t you? I can’t wait to see the flowers and butterflies on the postage stamp borders.
Great job finding such wonderful matches in the embroidery floss. Can’t wait to see what they turn into.
Karen, you are one busy woman!! It amazes me how much you get done!
Love the colors of wool you chose….cannot wait to see them come to life on the borders for the Postage Stamp quilt….
So many circles ready for their next step….and that indigo fabric is going to be great for the sashing!
Smart idea preparing those circles ahead of time. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
Love wool applique! I have a kit for a candle mat that I bought last year on my to-do list. I have found pearl cotton a bit hard to thread into the needles I have. So I’ve been using embroidery floss, too. Love the colors you chose for your border, especially the greens.
