Not much changed on my work since yesterday’s post.
Bricks are lined up to chain piece, ran out of bobbin thread and never did get back to it and all is still sitting here as I left it early in the day.
Two short rows of neutrals are pinned to the wall after I had to unpick one hexie on each row – didn’t count right.
Some squares cut for the next hexie flower – thought I better take a break from the neutrals. This flower will be on the left side in between the dark blue/yellow diamond and the blue/dark blue diamond. Better photo for location on previous post.
Worked on this area of Wagon’s West last and moving to the middle block.
We are off to visit family this very hot Saturday afternoon – a welcome home party for the traveling niece that got back from Kuwait in the Middle East a couple weeks ago – she is a teacher at one of the American Schools over there. She goes back for one more year in about 3 or 4 weeks – I think she is crazy but there you go – my opinion doesn’t count. Also one of my brother’s and his wife recently retired so it is a combination retirement party/welcome home party – I just know it is going to be too hot – I don’t know how long we will stay – I don’t want to be a party pooper but it should be about 95 degrees and I do not handle the heat all that great – outside barbecue – I will find some shade and have people come to me and sneak into the house now and then to cool off LOL. And yes I will be drinking plenty of water!!
Craftsy is having a Christmas in July Sale!!!! And that means it’s time to start thinking about all the incredible handmade gifts you’re going to give come December. So to make things a little easier, up to 60% off kits and supplies. Get everything you need to make something that’s for the holidays and from the heart. Sale goes through Sunday night the 24th! I noticed that the Fossil Fern fabric is now on clearance I wasn’t sure if that meant they were totally discontinuing so I asked and was told they are clearing it out – if you want to stock up on Fossil Ferns now will be a good time to do it. I am so glad I have already purchased all I needed to finish up my quilt The Final Frontier and have the backing fabric to match up with it or I would be searching.
The AccuQuilt sale continues through to the end of the month.

Hope you have fun at the party this afternoon and don’t get overheated 🙂 Thanks for sharing your wonderful quilty progress too! I think your Wagon’s West is sooo awesome!!! Love the close up you shared 😉 Kathi
Oh my gosh! Jump in the car, head north, pick me up and we can drive up to Wisconsin – it’s got to be cooler up there, right?!? I haven’t gone anywhere for a whole week – it’s just too hot! Try to stay cool!!
Enjoy your afternoon at the family gathering.
It is so hot here I am just staying inside the rest of the day.. I have fabric I need to iron and sewing to finish.
Hope you are having a nice visit with family….and that you are staying cool, and hydrated!
I know that once your bobbin is reloaded, you will speed through that stack in no time!! By the way, I love the saying on your mouse pad!
Love seeing all those little hexies growing in number!
Your hand quilting just amazes me. I was just thinking this morning about how slow I am at hand quilting and you whip out several quilts a year. I’m excited to see your new bricks quilt take shape! Hope you survived the party!
