Finally a little progress is showing for the Hertfordshire Quilt. I now have 3 sides of this current round finished and got started on the next one.
I got the 4th side laid out and then put onto my flannel board to work on in the living room. When all sides are done I will take the papers out and press it good I might have to take in a little seam here and there to make these fit – A couple sides appear to be just a little large but we will see maybe when they are pinned in place they will be fine. I am sewing the sections on to the body by machine.
I will be working on this side for Slow Sunday Stitching with Kathi and linking to Cynthia at Quilting is More Fun Than Housework also
A little more work on Tumalo Trails as well. I must admit I have not worked on Bird Brain for two days now so I really must work on that soon so I don’t let it sit idle too long.
It got up to 80 degrees yesterday and today will be back to normal around 68 or so. Couldn’t believe it dropped from 80 though down to near 40 last night – that was an amazing drop. We were outside most of the day yesterday so I only got a little hand stitching done on the new side of Hertfordshire and then got some quilting done in the evening. I imagine I will be doing more of the same today. I had intended to sew one more row of Tic Tac Toe yesterday but then I decided to take the weekend off of machine work and just work outside and on hand work instead.

Your Hertfordshire Quilt is simply amazing.
thanks – it can be a pain in the butt though – all those little pieces!
Love how you take so many pics during your days to share here on your blog… I try to take pics for the blogger in me but forget! So much I see can’t relate here in pics though too…
I am glad you had a nice warm day for yardwork… enjoy while it lasts as rain is coming I think! We didn’t have that high a temp so not that big a drop. It was nice to take a few pics and blog though.
I am LOVING my subscription to Craftsy Unlimited… thanks for sharing that!!! I wondered if I would use it but I do and the quilt kit should come this week… I am very excited to see it!!!
Kathi
I’m so glad you like your Craftsy Unlimited subscription – I too had wondered if I would use it enough and although I go through spells with it I have watched more than I thought I would.
A lot of times I take all the photos shortly before I set down to write my blog although if I am taking outside shots I do that in the afternoon
Hertfordshire is looking wonderful. Your LOW is the HIGH we hope to reach today ha ha ! 🙂
it is 44 right now, I can’t believe how much the temp dropped since yesterday afternoon – I hope all your snow melts soon and you and all the others in the north well have a warm up.
Hertfordshire is just wonderful. We are sitting in the 40s here with snow on the ground. I would love some 60 degree weather.
I can’t believe the temp dropped as much as it did from yesterday and I can’t believe how warm it got – the rest of the week should be back to normal for this time of year – 60’s/40’s
80 deg! We still in the mid-40’s, but at least the snow is evaporating.
Hertfordshire Quilt is lovely. What will the corners be? I need to go back to my own EPP.
The corners are squares in a square – some people add a hexie flower but I think will just do mine as the pattern – I’m glad you snow is beginning to evaporate you all sure had more than you wanted I’m sure.
Your work on Hertfordshire is fun to look at – lots of pretty color and shape! It has been really nice here the last few days – upper 60s – so I think we will be out in the yard this afternoon. We need to get started on our spring clean-up!
I like the progress on the Hertfordshire quilt but I do tire of it off and on and when I finish this round and get it all sewn in place i know I will set it aside again for a while while I work on another. The weather here will feel cool now after the 80 yesterday, very cloudy and might get in the 60’s by afternoon but sure is chilly this morning
This is beautiful! As someone who loves EPP, I can appreciate all the time and hand stitching that goes in to it!
thank you Jayne I think this one will take over a year for me to finish, I keep putting it aside as I finish segments of it
Your EPP project is looking great. I really like the colors you are using. And such tiny pieces!
Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
some of the pieces aren’t too small I think the pieces in the very center of the quilt will be the smallest
Slow and steady progress each week when I visit! I am looking forward to sewing outside but still too cold to even think about that yet.
sorry it is still winter for you. Here we are already having pollen problems and sinus headaches are starting – I love spring but wish we could do it without the pollen!
Great progress on your Herfordshire quilt , Karen. I added the sides to mine by hand, I don’t think I could do it by machine though, I had to fiddle with mine too much. I too will do something else after this round and take a little rest after this round is finished. Yard work and my daughter coming will keep me busy for a little while I think. I got to enjoy some videos on the Craftsy site, I think I’m going to enjoy all the classes. It certainty was worth it, with the free quilt kit and the 25 dollar coupon. Have a great Sunday slow stitching.
with the free quilt kit and the $25 coupon you have almost all of your investment back already and have the whole year to watch shows!
I am sewing the sides on by machine but taking it really slow making sure of no folds in the fabric. One side left to finish and make the cornerstones and attach and I will take a break from it too – can only work on one EPP project at a time right!
Your Hertfordshire quilt is amazing, I love the colours!
thanks – I wasn’t too sure at first if I liked the colors but they have grown on me
Ooooh, I can’t wait for Spring to get here!
it was a lot cooler today – only up to 60
Karen Me gusta tu edredón Hertfordshire.
Me encantan los colores
Buena semana
thanks I think Hertfordshire will be a good looking quilt when done
You are zipping along on the EPP diamonds. I note how nicely the low-volume prints contrast nicely with the vibrant repros. I will be curious to see how the borders look without the papers.
I have two of the borders sewn on now and papers out of the 3 borders that are finished a photo of that tomorrow still working on the fourth
