Cutting Flannel

I have not gotten any quilting done since I last posted and was so terribly busy yesterday.  In between packing and cleaning I sat down and cut more flannel – I might have all the colors cut out and ready to cut the light beige colors when we get home.

Other than the flannel I quilted one or two more birds since I last showed it.  Above the white line is what needs to be quilted – but it is going to wait until we get home – I will get done with it this summer.   I am linking to Confessions of a Fabric Addict  — and Busy Hands Quilt — Crazy Mom Quilts —

I will not be posting every day while we are gone but when I do have a good connection and that means starting this weekend I might not be on here daily.  I will post when I can but it is not top priority.  In fact I probably need a little break from the computer – sometimes we tend to let computers take our time over.  I am looking forward to the first 10 days of the trip – it has been near a year since we have seen our younger daughter and the grandchildren and it sounds like one day next week Jessica and Ciera are planning an afternoon out for us girls having pedicures – sounds fun this is not something I indulge in at home and probably should!  I’ll try to get a photo of our toes lol.

So Melanie has her list of chores – mainly water the plants and check the mail and Aniya has the job of picking tomatoes if they ripen before we get home and she can eat them – she eats tomatoes like they are candy and Ric will cut the grass – they will all be coming and going as they please.

I will be answering email from my phone so stay in touch and I will drop in on Instagram  also.

aren’t these flannels pretty colors – I’m glad I got this kit after making the first flannel kit quilt last year I wondered why I had never used flannel – I did have to big stitch but it was nice

Pedicures is one thing I do for me. Keeps the ingrown toenails under control. Have a good trip.

Have a great trip, Karen! We’ll all enjoy your updates when you are able to post. I’ll look forward to seeing your new flannel project get started when you get back!

    • Karen May 25, 2018 @ 8:53

thanks Diann, I think this flannel quilt will be extremely easy to make although if I put it on the hand quilting frame I will need to do big stitch like I did the last one – the little between just wouldn’t go through it!

    Hi Karen,

You’re so right… blogging is about having fun. Not about European Law etc…. I hope I did enough to keep my blog going the way I always did.

But I noticed that is was hard to get to your blog… Hope that this is only for today and doesn’t have anything to do with the European legislation (sorry… don’t know the right word for it…).

So for now I take a deep breath and will enjoy the weekend… Wish you a good weekend too….

I have been having internet problems on my end so that might be why you had difficulty getting in my blog – I hope this problem clears up soon! Thanks for dropping by!

Karen, How fun to have a project ready to sew and 2 projects near completion when you return. I hope your trip keeps you worry free and computer negligent much of the time… we can catch up when you are able but enjoy yourself!
Aniya may get a few tomatoes and hopefully not too much mail you forgot to prethink for. Have fun with your hubby! Kathi

we get most of our mail on line now days mostly advertising and unwanted catalogs are in the mail! The tomatoes will take off one day and we will have a lot I hope when we get home – right now there are only a couple on the plants – we are looking forward to the visit to our daughter and family

  • Dottie Bishaw May 25, 2018 @ 10:59

You don’t have too many more birds to do, they will be waiting for you patiently at home. The colors of the new flannel quilt are so pretty, it will be a lovely quilt. Hope you have a lovely trip and enjoy your family and grandson’s graduation. I know we will enjoy our grandson’s and so happy to be with our daughter and son in law. Our granddaughter and great granddaughter will be coming from Pennsylvania and our youngest son, wife and two daughters are coming from
Florida. It’s going to be quite a reunion, maybe if I’m lucky, there will be a stop at Hancocks of Paducah, lol. Have a fun and safe trip and don’t bother posting every day unless you have time, we’ll catch you when we can.

    • Karen May 25, 2018 @ 11:46

hope you get to Paducah – you will have a good reunion with the family . I have plans to stop at a couple quilt shops too!
