I sat at the quilting frame too long on Sunday night LOL – I got a lot done – I probably need to set a timer so I stop doing that or my hands will wear out – I just get into “the zone”!
Good Fortune – and yes that is a little bleed by that dark blue batik and there is more of it scattered throughout the quilt – this one will need soaking for sure when it is done – I noticed that spot after I had ironed the block – a splotch of steam got to it I think. But hey with all that is going on in this quilt maybe a few splotches of blue won’t be noticeable – one can hope right!
Yesterday when I got home from the fitness center I got busy tackling the bed area that the new tree is going in – I mentioned we picked up a Weeping Cherry Tree didn’t I – well Mike is busy with stuff of his own and I wanted to get some important to me bulbs out of that bed before it gets dug out deep so I got busy digging them out – there are about 10 or so of these huge Crinum bulbs in there (mine look a lot like those at the link except not quite so much pink) and they are about 12 inches down – I think I found 7 of them so today it is back to the garden and dig up the rest
The tree will get put in this bed – it should really be pretty next spring if it grows well and doesn’t die on me.
The Weeping Cherry Tree – well be covered in pink flowers it says – it does bear fruit and you can eat it – but it sounds like they are tiny sour berries and the birds love them and build nest in the tree and that sounds good to me!
Thanks to everyone who says they will send me a signature block – I think I am over 30 signatures promised now – this might end up queen size!! – well appreciate anyone else who wants to send one – no rush- I won’t start making the quilt for a month or two. Linking to To-Do-Tuesday —
If you have a subscription to Bluprint you know if you got in on the right deal you get 3 free classes to keep in your library of classes every three months and 15% off purchases – I got my codes yesterday for classes and I’m trying to decide which ones to get –there are so many! So far one on embroidery and I’m looking for more!

I think you’re right on the bleed; with all that movement, it likely won’t be that noticeable. Frustrating when it happens, though! I just responded to your signatures request on your last post (not sure how I missed that). That is going to be a pretty tree!
We had a weeping cherry at house in Virginia Beach. It was beautiful our but the next owner had to cut it down when it got too big for the spot where we planted it. I will send you a signature block too. .. As long as I remember to do it!
The weeping cherry tree sounds beautiful – anything to attract the birds would be wonderful, I think! I hadn’t heard of those bulbs, but went to the link to look at the flowers and they are beautiful, too. When I read that you’re having bleeding on Good Fortune already, I thought, “Oh no,” but I know you have a system for getting that out and have been successful with it. Enjoy your garden work today!
I think you’ll get that bleed out like you did with the last quilt. I remenber your technique for doing it and will use it when I need it. The weeping cherry tree will be so lovely there by your swing. I have those bulbs in a big pot and they are a very delicate pink color when they bloom. Today my daughter a d I went to two big nurseries and I saw a beautiful weeping Redbud, I had no idea there was one. If they grow down south, I hope I can find one. Please email your address so I can mail your block to you. Take it easy on your fingers too so you can continue to quilt without hurting.
I would love to participate in your signature quilt.
Your little tree is beautiful 😉
I didn’t even notice that blue until you mentioned it. I agree that it won’t be noticeable at all if they happen to stick around!
Lovely quilting as always! I wouldn’t have noticed the bleed if you hadn’t mentioned it. I live gardening vicariously through your blog posts. That spot is a lovely place for a tree. I’m eager to see the weeping cherry when you get it planted.
