Yesterday was a day with a little bit here and a little bit there while visiting with Melanie. I got the sweater out and I got the front on one side done up to where the shoulder will be. There will be a ribbing going around the neck and down the front to the bottom so hopefully any ends that look a little off will be nice.
then I tired of that and finished two blue flowers on Morning Glory – the two on the bottom – still need to make yellow circles for the centers.
Then Panama Pyramids came out and I was tracing pieces and cutting – still more to do – better work on that today and get this month of orange pieces done. It is amazing how fast the month is going by. Melanie did have a little laugh at how I would work on one project for a little bit then put it aside and work on another – keeps from getting bored – right?
While I was working on all of this Melanie was working on a large cross stitch – I do not know what the final piece will look like – she starts with a design that she finds a photo of in an old cross stitch book – I think she said this one was Russian maybe? I’m not sure how this piece will be finished I will need to remind her to show me when she is done so I can take another photo
This piece reminds me of a smaller piece she made a couple years ago that we turned into a box that I use for tissues on the bedside table – it has two sides
Totally different on this side other than the color. She never buys a pattern but looks through old, old craft books and finds designs that she likes.
I did get more done on Good Fortune on Saturday night for my usual hour or two of quilting in the evening I picked back up on this border last night for a little bit. Linking to Love Laugh Quilt — Em’s Scrapbag— MCM #154 — Small Quilts and Doll Quilts —

Someone in my small quilt group is learning Tunisian crochet. It looks very dense but she says it’s quite easy to do. We’ll see when she moves to a real project rather than a practice one.
Melanie’s embroidery is just amazing!
the Tunisian crochet really makes a stitch a lot like knitting I’m glad I learned how to do that one too.
yes Melanie stitches really well
Your sweater and applique are coming along. It would take me forever to do all that applique. I started a sample pack of Panama Pyramids; I should pull them out again, now that I know I like EPP. Melanie’s cross stitching is beautiful!
I really doubt I will applique the entire border – I will probably just do the one corner having it reach half way across the top the and down the side
It is really nice to have several different projects to be working on, especially when you’re sitting and visiting. I really like your Panama Pyramid blocks – looking forward to seeing the orange one! Melanie’s embroidery is really beautiful! What kind of cloth is she using for it? Our weather turned cold and rainy this weekend – I’ve had to cover the plants the last couple nights because they were predicting frost. I’m ready for the nice weather to come back!
I really need to get busy on the Panama Pyramid blocks and get that lot done before we have the new color for June! Sorry your weather is still turning cold so often
Morning glory is coming together nicely.
It is coming along nicely but I doubt I will make the border all the way around I will tire of it way before then
Wow! Melanie’s stitch work is amazing! So detailed and perfect.
Your sweater is going along nicely! I ended up ripping out the 7 rows I’d done on a baby afghan last night and choosing a different pattern. There was a mistake somewhere and I couldn’t find it. I hope to go back to this pattern at some point when I’m a little more skilled.
I’ve read that working on several different creative projects at a time is a great approach. As a person’s brain tires of one thing, some people just stop and rest. But changing to a different project achieves the same thing as rest.
she does very detail work doesn’t she. sorry your afghan was causing you problems – it is so nice being able to just unravel though isn’t it!! I do that all the time.
It’s so nice to have so many different projects to work on as you do. I’m going to be doing the same with mine when I get moved into my new quilting room, right now they are all put away in plastic boxes till we move. I just kept my Hertfordshire quilt to work on till then. I’m half way through border six, still all done in EPP. I love Melanie’s cross stitch piece, just beautiful. I used to do counted cross stitch way back. I rather enjoyed it, it was so peaceful and fulfilling. Those oranges are going to be so pretty in your Panama Pyramids block. I had lab work done this morning for a doctor appointment next week, so glad to be back home, even though it’s laundry day again. Have a nice day enjoying whatever you decide to do.
today I was cutting out Panama Pyramids but I haven’t touched the sewing machine yet and will I today? It is getting so cloudy out – think we might get rain tonight and tomorrow! Do you have another doctor lined up in your new location for when you move?
