Camping

Just a couple places to share today – we have been traveling and I have surprised myself in that I didn’t open my computer bag for a week.  I haven’t been taking a lot of photos either – so far.

Here are a couple from the first places that we stopped – here is one in Oklahoma – it was a very hot day and we just stopped one night here next to a lake – the roads throughout the park need improvement badly but the site itself was ok for one night.  Nestled in the trees.

The lake was pretty.

Here is another place we stopped at – this one was in Kansas called Wilson Lake I believe, a lot of these spots were out in the sun, we managed to have a small shade tree next to us were we put our chairs.  There were not a lot of people at this park – although it was a huge park

Kansas had gotten a lot of rain in the spring and summer – this campground is by a irrigation lake and the water this year was not needed for irrigation and all campsites along the river were flooded and closed.

We did see a pretty heron close by this flooded site

Beautiful Kansas sunflowers.

Another place we stopped at was at a tiny little Colorado town next to the interstate – and I saw something that I hadn’t seen in a very long time – a phone booth!

We are in Eastern Wyoming now and not sure how long we will be here – we are on our way to the Tetons but saw on the weather that a bit of a cold front will be there this week so we are contemplating if we will stay put for a couple days and delay getting there or not – it is supposed to get a little warmer later in the week I think or next week – we will see – retirement means flexibility.

Well done on not opening your computer bag for a week! The campsites you are staying at look lovely. Hope you’ve managed to get some sewing done on your road trip?

I had to look Wilson Lake up to see where in Kansas you were! It definitely looks nice and green there. Our son, who lives in Goodland, KS, has talked about record amounts of rain this year. Enjoy Wyoming and the Tetons!

Looks like you’ve had some pretty decent camping spots. I love the pic of the sunflowers. I’m glad you’re getting some downtime away from the computer.

I’m glad you found such beautiful spots to camp. I had no idea Kansas has so much rain, everything looks so pretty and green. It’s funny to see a regular telephone in town like that. Beautiful pictures and I loved the sunflowers especially. Hard to think of cold fronts right now, but I suppose so since it’s the middle of September already. Have fun relaxing!

Enjoy your trip away and im sure you are managing to do some hand stitching inbetween your walks and travels. We returned home from our Aussie Adventure and several days later hooked upnthe caravan for a weeks trip.

Boy, you’ve really been hitting the road! So many states already! How long is your trip going to be?
