Applique and Other Things

I got my Dresden Garden out to do a bit more stitching and it is going well – If I really stick with this I could finish it in two weeks I bet!  It is of course hard to show what is accomplished with all the ends already turned under – but the middle stem & leaf’s are stitched down and I am working on the lower flower – the two center pieces are done and I am working on the flower petals – about a third done perhaps

On Crossroads between Tuesday and Wednesday night I got this part done

I found this pattern in my stash for winter that I might make for Melanie and her children’s department at the library – if I get around to it – it is only 6 inches wide by 22 so one would think I could accomplish that but who knows right!

I took a walk at the park the other day instead of going to the fitness center – after walking on trails in the campgrounds and parks on the road – the fitness center seems so very boring!!  And look at all those geese out!

I was at the library yesterday volunteering – and I was put to work helping with prep work for games for the Halloween party –ring toss on the witches hats

and bowling with a pumpkin – had to get the ghost faces on these bowling pins – she had a few more for me to work on but the photos were on her phone and I didn’t realize I hadn’t taken them on mine.

As a rather new digital subscriber to Quiltmania magazine I have been getting ads from them now and then and I got one yesterday that I hadn’t heard of before – what is the 2019 Box – the ad says:  “We are so excited to announce Quiltmania’s 2019 box is by Japanese artist Yoko Saito!”  what are these boxes? do they have one every year and what kind of things do they include – pricey I bet.

So much to love here! Including your gorgeous dresdens, quilting, volunteering and making cute stuff, park walking, and thinking about snowmen…which I love.

Volunteering at the library looks like fun! Good luck accomplishing all those things you’d like to finish!

Your Dresden Garden is looking lovely and it was really interesting following your trip and seeing all the places you visited.
There was one of those boxes from Quiltmania 2 or 3 years ago, that time a Di Ford pattern. I seem to remember it was oversubscribed very quickly and also was very expensive.

Love seeing your progress on Dresden Garden! That snowman wall-hanging is so cute – I bet you could make it up quickly! I, too, would rather walk outside than at the fitness center – and it looks like a great park you have to walk in. Have fun volunteering at the library!

Loving your quilting pattern. Looks like you have been set to work at the library! Looks like fun! That snowman should be achievable for you easily! Lol!

Looks like a fun new “job” at the library! Melanie really knows how to use your talents. I love the Dresden Garden by the way. It’s whimsical and very pretty. I especially like the tumbler border – will have to think about doing one soon.

What great fun for the library! I love all the things you do. I am so glad to see you almost having the quilting done. And the Dresden plates are amazing. The varied background adds so much to it.
