I think this will be the last post to try to get posted before we get home which should be sometime on Thursday if all goes according to plan. We stayed at Brantly Lake State Park in the Carlsbad New Mexico area for 2 nights and visited the Caverns one day which I will do a post of after we get home and go through photos and see what I missed posting if I did miss – I really didn’t take near the photos I normally do.
First the projects – I have mainly stuck with the hexies and the crochet and found those the easiest to work with this time even though I brought so many things with me – it just means I have things ready to work on for the next couple months – right?
One more hexie diamond done since the last photo – here are now 21 done – I have a lot of hexies cut out in this neutral fabric and running out of others so I did one with all the same neutral and probably will do more like that – from start to finish this one diamond took 2 hours two nights ago to make.
The shawl I am making with the jade color yarn is coming along well – it is folded in half and needs to be really long as this is the length (with it folded in half) of my arm to back of neck – so instead of working length I am working width if that makes sense. I made up this pattern and have it memorized now.
This is the yarn from Bluprint that I got a couple months ago on a sale – I will probably need to get more.
At the state park we took a walk at sunset and captured the most beautiful sunset in ages
So that is it for now – maybe a post on Friday after I get myself organized – chances are I will be sitting down at the quilting frame on Thursday night to unwind!!

Dear Karen
Since we got back from out West, I have been reading about all the adventures you and your hubby have enjoyed together. Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us. Especially all the sunshine. LOL, we prep all the projects, then sometimes we only work on some. If we get to a) of them on a trip, it is a bonus. Love the amazing sunset. Safe travels!
Another beautiful sunset. It takes my breath away. I am surrounded by tall trees at home so only see a sunset like this when traveling. Thanks for the lovely photos.
Wow, what a gorgeous sunset, Karen! I bet you’re ready to be home again – I always love going, but love getting home again, too. Your hexies with the pink centers are so pretty! And I love the color of your crochet project, too. Safe travels!
Lovely sunset photos! Safe travels.
Your shawl is going to be so pretty, love those stitches. Your diamond project is really coming along since you’ve been working on it this trip. The sunsets are really beautiful out there, aren’t they? Hope your trip home is safe and I know you’ll be so happy to be back bome.
I hope your journey home is safe. I love your sunset photos … and from where we live… I know we are only seeing a bit of the brilliant sunset you saw in person 🙂 How wonderful!
I love your yarn color and design, surprised that you didn’t get much stitching done otherwise except your hexies and a bit more.. but if you hadn’t brought so many different things you may have wanted them 😀
Have a wonderful week dear friend!
Kathi
Beautiful sunset colours. I’m always amazed at how quickly the colours can change, then fade away
Beautiful sunset. The clouds add so much interest to the pictures!
