I got my quilt kit that I ordered from Green Fairly on June 15th yesterday! They are so fast – I can’t say enough good things about them. Here is my quilt kit Good Times – Under the Stars. A lot of fabric is in this box. Darn the light from the window was in the way – a pretty box isn’t necessary with a quilt kit but it adds to the charm somehow. It says there are still two left if anyone is interested – go into the clearance items and scroll on through all of their neat sales.
Now you can see the pattern better. I don’t know what it was about this old fashioned looking quilt that said “buy me” but it did and I think I will love it.
the 5 yards listed first is of the background fabric and I thought I took a photo of all the fabric laid out on the table and I guess I didn’t. I’m not exactly sure when I will jump in and start this one but I would hope I will finish something first!!
Another hexie diamond is done – this is the one started yesterday
This hexie diamond quilt was made about 4-5 years ago and is currently on the bed – this one was not EPP – I did this one with hand piecing – almost the same design as the one above except there will be two rows of white in between each colorful diamond. I called this one Diamonds are Forever and you can see a post on it here. Linking to Wednesday Wait Loss — Midweek Makers —
My tomato plants have overgrown their cages already and were in danger of toppling over so we had to stake them to tall poles for the rest of their growing time. They are full of green tomatoes and I have had about a dozen ripe so fare.
The Dusty Millers are getting more and more full blossomed yellow flowers and it looks amazing with the white of the plants I think.
And of course the never ending Black-Eyed Susan’s that just keep blooming and blooming – these are the wild ones growing in numerous places of the yard and on the side of the house are some that I bought from a nursery that are a different variety and they are getting ready to bloom too
I am waiting for an order of batting and I know it is in my state for 3 days now at least and still isn’t here! and I am so glad I still had one king size batting left on the shelf to use next for the Alaska quilt – at this rate I wonder if I will get this order of batting this month. My advice – if you want it – if you need any quilting supplies and you do not have a quilt shop order way before you need an item if you know it is things you always use – it is not the fault of the on line companies – they are just overwhelmed I guess. Green Fairy is a family owned business run out of part of their home so they are much faster – I can’t say enough good about them except they are mainly a pre-cut store – although they do have a lot more inventory then they used to in years past.

That’s going to be a gorgeous quilt, and I will enjoy watching you make it! I agree that some online companies are moving more slowly right now. It took quite a while to get some fabric I’d ordered from Pineapple Fabrics (which bought Keepsake and took it south). I find ordering from etsy sellers is pretty quick, and most of my Amazon orders seem to come at the “usual” pace. Guess a lot more people haven’t been shopping in stores lately. I have ordered more online and will probably continue to do so since our rural area just doesn’t have everything I need/want.
It will be fun watching you work on that new kit. I have purchased a few things from Green Fairy and have been very impressed with their fast shipping. So far my delivery of items hasn’t been too bad, but definitely slower. I never knew that Dusty Miller would bloom; guess I never thought about it. I always thought it was just a ground cover type of plant. Sure is pretty with the yellow flowers!
I ordered batting in May and it wasn’t shipped for an entire month- I had a tracking number but FedEx did not receive the package. I ordered a 40 yard bolt so I shouldn’t need any for a looooong time!
I have no local quilt shops so I order online too.
I love your hexies. Glad to hear someone has tomatoes, we had such a late start I don’t know that I will get many this year. Your flowers are all lovely.
The picture on the box “Good Times – Under the Stars” looks like it would make a great jigsaw puzzle. It’s beautiful!
That’s going to be a beautiful quilt! I’ll be interested in how the blocks are made. I need batting again, and really liked the Hobbs 80/20 that ordered from Connecting Threads, but it did take a couple weeks for it to come. Does Green Fairy sell batting? Your Dusty Millers are really pretty! I didn’t know they bloomed like that either.
I think I have tomato envy…. Mine where not even put in the ground until Memorial Weekend and then the next day we had a hail storm. I think the healthy one of the batch is about 12 inches tall right now if I stretch it out.
Your hexie quilt is fabulous!
That is a gorgeous quilt, it will be fun to watch along as you make it.
Ooh, your new quilt kit looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun! Diamonds are Forever is a lovely quilt too. Love those Black-Eyed Susans!
I love, love, love your new kit—both the design and colors. I think you’ll have a lot of fun with it. We have Dusty Miller as an annual in my part of the country, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it in flower. I just showed your photo to my husband, and he immediately found a recording of Dusty Miller Hornpipe and Fugue in A Minor for Strings, Brass and 5-String Banjo by John Hartford. It’s a pretty little piece. I think battings hitchhike their way around these days. It’s kind of fun to see all the states they go through on their way if you aren’t anxious to get them.
….and you have violets! I see those leaves. You must not have deer! I am envious. I have to cage everything or high fence our yard, which I hate to do. Lovely. I like Green Fairy too.
Such a beautiful quilt I can see why it spoke to you. Love the diamond quilt too! Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
