Is done! finally I really was slow getting the binding done on this quilt – I guess because I know I was not going to use it before Christmas. This pattern is designed by Lynn Wilder of Sew’n Wild Oaks – after washing and drying it shrunk a little bit but I expected that it is 57.5 x 67.5 – hand quilted in almost 68 hours over 42 days – sometimes for as little as an hour or as long as 2 and half hours – a little every day and you get it done.
One pineapple block done and one started
A little more quilting
And we got the much needed rain and temperatures cooled off to enjoy a little time on the porch until the wind picked up and I started to get wet! This is why I didn’t take a photo of the quilt outside! Good morning Karen and Congrats on a spectacular finish on the Christmas quilt!!!! I JUST LOVE IT <3 The texture your quilting created enhanced the piecing you did.. totally fabulous… so glad you got rain and got other sewing done too ! We got rain yesterday too and were happy to have it… Kathi
Your Christmas quilt is beautiful!!! It seems amazing it only took 42 days to quilt but as you say, a little bit every day gets it done 🙂 it’s so lovely when summer rains bring the temperature down.
Congratulations on finishing yet another beautiful quilt! I like for any time of year. The colors are so nice.
Dear Karen,
What a beautiful quilt. You did a fantastic job. The quilt will turn your house in a warm and cosy spot come the festive season. You are way ahead of all of us. We need some rain. It is so hot. The rains will be welcome when it cools everything down a bit.
Beautiful finished Christmas quilt, done in plenty of time for December!
We are still waiting for some rain…it has been two weeks of hot humid weather with no rain.
It must be a satisfying feeling to have the Christmas quilt done. It is so pretty, Karen. Nothing beats sitting on the porch and listening and smelling the rain, until you start getting wet, then the party is over! Ha! Glad it cooled off for you – we are waiting for that. It will come, eventually.
Love your Christmas quilt!
Beautiful! With that quilt upon the wall for Christmas little else is needed..it will be the center of eyestoppingbeauty.
And it’s done! Yay!
The rain I’s also so beautiful coming down. We got an afternoon shower one day this week but did not cool down, but glad everything got a good drink about an inch.
Have a great one.
Very pretty! I’m loving Sewn Wild Oaks new Christmas quilt too- looks like woven ribbons!
Your Christmas quilt really is beautiful, love it and now it’s washed, the quilting really stands out and it looks all lovely and crinkly. Your quilting on Alaska is coming on well too, as you say a bit every day gradually gets it done. I’m still quilting my hexie quilt, doing some most days.
Charming Country Christmas is just beautiful, Karen! Such a great pattern, and your quilting really completes it. Do you wash your finished quilts with Color Catchers? That quilt has lots of red, and it looks like it came out of the wash just fine without running. My red and white quilt is almost done, and I would like to wash it, but am a little scared to! Your rain picture looks so refreshing – we would love some of that here. And so would all of our growing things!
CCC is beautiful! It’s going to look great displayed this winter. We really need some rain here but I don’t think we have any in the forecast.
Absolutely Gorgeous, beautifully done.
The Christmas Charmer is gorgeous, Karen! What a beautiful finish. And yay for some cooling rain!
What a beautiful finish!! and a great reason why you didn’t take outside photos!! Send that rain my way!! I am impressed you are ready for Christmas already!! GOod planning !!
You have a good Christmas to look forward to with your 2 new Christmas quilts. They are both beauties. I guess you could call it Christmas in July right now.
We got a half inch of rain last night. Better than nothing but still need more.
Fantastic
Aw Karen, another beauty all done. What a quilter you are!
We need rain; the farmers are getting worried.
Congratulations on the Christmas quilt finish. It came out beautifully.
Wonderful job on the Christmas quilt. It looks so snuggly. I’m doing the binding on Josie’s graduation quilt right now. Behind on it since we didn’t get to go to graduation anyway. We got some needed rain yesterday. We’ve had lots of days where it threatened or just sprinked enough to keep things wet and stickly.
Very beautiful the Christmas quilt! And I like the way the Alaska is coming. Good job
Your Christmas quilt looks fabulous! I love, love, love the hand quilting. Almost makes me want to get mine out and get started, but I really have a hard time working on holiday stuff outside the holiday!
Your Christmas Quilt is absolutely fabulous….. tried to think of something no-one else had said, but couldn’t. It truly is lovely and the fact that you hand quilted it..Wow!
Another wonderful hand quilted finish, congratulations, your Charming Christmas quilt looks wonderful. You must be so pleased with it.
It’s lovely!! A perfect Holiday decoration. We need the rain, please send some our way!
Congratulations on a spectacular finish, Karen!!! Totally drool-worthy and snuggly. I know you showed a pineapple blocks and mentioned rain but this gorgeous Christmas Quilt has overshadowed everything else 🙂

Congrats on a gorgeous finish! The rain has been nice, but it’s interrupted a lot of morning plans to be out and about this week.
What a beautiful Christmas quilt Karen. I love the diagonal patches, reminds me of an Irish chain.
Alaska looks fantastic, Karen! Congratulations on yet another gorgeous finish! I wish I could see your hand quilting in person. Those flower motifs look really good in your diamond patches, especially with the double outline quilting of the diamond shape. Your pineapple log cabin blocks are looking great, too — such a different effect when you make them from just two fabrics versus scrappy!
Wow, that’s a beautiful finish! I love your Christmas quilt! Did you pre-washed your red fabric before sewing them?
Thanks for linking up!
