Alaska a Little Progress

Not much quilting got done on Monday night I had a little bit of a headache and neckache and just didn’t do much –  this was it – I said not much!

Yesterday in the heat of the afternoon I got my copies that I made of Alaska that I had printed out to fool around with quilt design  I wasn’t sure how I was going to quilt this quilt to feature the main design in the quilt – kind of rough but maybe you can get an idea of where I will be going with it.

My order finally came from Connecting Threads – they had it shipped within two weeks but it was lost at the USPS distribution center in Little Rock area for 17 days!!  The large box was supposed to be here June 20th and the smaller box which held Retayne was supposed to be here June 25th – that was a replacement for a bottle with a cracked lid that spilled out in shipping back in May!!  The order was held up only 80 miles from me.  The delay was not caused by Connecting Threads but through USPS!!!

Looks like you did a little bit of everything yesterday! Sounds like a good idea to try out some different ideas for quilting by printing out some pictures of the quilt. I’m so glad your CT order arrived finally. The USPS does do some crazy things – we sent things to both my MIL (60 miles away) and to our some Kevin (250 miles away) and guess whose package arrived first! Hot here, too – upper 90s and into the hundreds for at least another week.

I love both of your quilts. So beautiful.
Is Alaska the name of the pattern?
We ate our first tomato last night. For Dennis birthday supper. It was so good! Have a good day Karen

Hope you are feeling better today. I had a Connecting Threads order arrive recently – I had completely forgotten I had ordered, it took that long for it to come. I now have enough batting to last me awhile though – haha!

Thanks for sharing your plan for your quilting on Alaska. There is so much interest in the piecing, I think your simpler lines on the quilting are a nice balance. Will you be quilting in the ditch?

So glad your order finally arrived! I got my first one Monday (3 days early) and placed another order Sunday… I have not checked to see when that one will arrive. Like the plan for quilting Alaska. Hope the headache went away – I had one for 5 hours yesterday…. so far so good today! Time to sew.

Glad your order made it …finally! Shipping can be a hazard sometimes! I love that you have rolled Country Christmas and worked a bit on the outer border… working on a hexi diamond and binding too. I will be interested to see what Craftsy will be like being reimagined with new ownership 🙂
Have a wonderful afternoon and I hope this message finds you relaxing and reading with no headache 🙂 Kathi

You worked on a bit of everything the last few days. All your projects are looking good. I’m doing some hand sewing of a binding, it’s one of my favorite parts. It’s like getting to spend a lot of time with an old friend before they move on to something else.

Your quilting plan for Alaska looks good! We have had terrible problems with our local post office. It’s crazy! I’m glad you FINALLY got your order.
