Two more pineapple blocks were done and caught up on ripping paper off of the backs – all stacked up in a project box – I believe there are 30 now – I’ve been lazy with this project and several days go by without working on them at times
I am hoping all 81 blocks will fit in this one project box – I’m sure I can compact them down as I add more LOL
I did finish this diamond for Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds after I took this photo – I had intended to put it aside for the day but then picked it up while we were watching the news and finished it
Quilting on Alaska from Thursday night – it all looks the same as I have been posting the same border and it is repeated day after day! This part quilted
And this part left to do on this border
Cucumbers hanging on the plant that I put in a hanging pot – it is doing well – just needs to be watered daily
Still some apples on the apple tree for a change and have not gone bad like they have every year since it was planted. Not a lot but can I possibly get some apples that ripen this year that can be eaten!
This blackberry bush is the one that was eaten the most and it is coming back really well – a lot of new growth on it. All of the six berry bushes are now growing.
I’m hoping that as Mike has been clearing out all the brush in back of the apple tree that it will begin to grow more – we will need to enlarge the wire fencing around it next year or this fall – it needs to be pruned also
Thank you all for the compliments on the Christmas quilt – I appreciate it

It’s been a very unproductive week – hot and muggy and we’ve had roofers roaming up and down the house for two weeks. Have not even started this month’s RSC blocks, and my virtual round robin border, while cut out, hasn’t been touched. At least I finished the front of the sweater I’m knitting, despite the heat. Hoping the tropical storm expected today will blow in some cooler air and bring me some energy. 🙂
Dear Karen,
Your apple tree is looking amazing. So is all those pineapple blocks. The heat finally got put on pause, we got some rain and it looks like some more rain this morning. Your quilting makes the quilt. Cucumbers just growing in a hanging pot, wow!
Those apples sure look good..we don’t get to get any of our apples, pears or peaches..varmints called squirrels carry them off while still little and green. Pear tree must have froze this spring no fruit on it.
Question does anyone still produce what they called shirting fabric?I have looked at several re- production fabrics haven’t found what I was looking for.
Have a good day.
I think you’re doing great with making the pineapple blocks – little by little you’ll get to your goal of 81! Pretty new hexie diamond, and your quilting is moving along on the Alaska border, too. Glad you’re seeing those healthy-looking apples this year. We aren’t getting any because of a freeze in April. I’m still waiting to see if I’ll get any cucumbers, too – lots of blossoms, but no cukes yet!
I didn’t realize cukes could be planted that way. Sure makes picking them easier, right? Glad you are getting some good apples. I have some 6″ pineapple paper, and I should follow your lead and just make one now and then. Fun to see those blocks stack up. Another pretty hexie, and more progress on Alaska – all good!
Nice stack of those blocks! I’m very impressed with your gorgeous finish on the Christmas quilt too, the texture is wonderful. The only edible thing we have growing Is our avocado tree but it’s still got a lot of fruit to eat. I taught our New next door neighbor that he needed to thin the fruit heavily on the nectarine and peach trees the former Owner planted. He did that and then pruned the tree way down at the same time…oh well!
Good progress on all of your projects! Love those hanging cucumbers! What fun. I’m glad you may get some apples this year and that your berry bush is looking so good after be so thoroughly munched.
How can you call yourself lazy? You must be the hardest working quilter I know! Fresh apples on your tree, dont they look delicious.
The pile of pineapple blocks is looking good.and you are moving along on the quilting. It was a good week.
I really like that leafy blue in the first pineapple block you showed. The deer will happily prune your apple tree, roses, etc. for free!
