I must really need a break from the quilting frame for a couple days – I had no desire to quilt on Tuesday night – none at all – what is happening to me LOL – don’t worry I will still quilt I think I just need a couple days off – normally by this time of year we have already taken a short trip to Wisconsin and wouldn’t have quilted for 3 or 4 weeks – I guess in my mind it was time for a break and I think I will take the rest of the week away from the quilting frame and just work on other things.
I made one pineapple block yesterday so I did still work on fun things besides doing the laundry and vacuum the floors! More fabric was cut to make two more like this one.
The little bit that was left to applique on Morning Glory was also done – I think I only had 30 minutes left on it to finish and did during the evening news. Finished – this photo was from a couple weeks ago before I started to stitch the final blue border – now it is done and ready to quilt – next year! I did cut the binding in matching blue and it is in the box with it. I am glad to have this top done and in the box and I’m very happy I decided to NOT applique the entire border even though so many of you tried to talk me into it – there are more quilts to make! Linking to Creative Compulsions —
Masks were sent off in the mail all 18 of them and they should receive them on Saturday – I have plenty of t-shirt strips ready for them to insert into the casing (along with 2 big pins) to make them the size that is comfy for them.
Last but not least – Melanie made the stitchery for us for Christmas present and I have been thinking of how to finish it off for display – I decided on a 2.5 inch border with the pretty Princess Mira(?) batik (yes pre-washed) then batting and backing – a little quilting to hold it all together and it will be a table mat with a pretty Xmas decoration standing/sitting in the middle on a table – I will sew the strips on today I think.
Now I don’t know – did every one that needed it get the letter from Bluprint last night on the pattern downloads? Get your patterns downloaded!! You have about a month to do so Here is the letter:
| “By now, we hope you’ve heard the good news that TN Marketing will be continuing many of the services related to your Bluprint/Craftsy videos and subscriptions on a new website which TN Marketing announced will be launching on or around September 1, 2020. We wanted to highlight, however, that while TN Marketing did acquire patterns located in the class materials section of your classes, patterns located in your pattern library (meaning ones by independent designers, Bluprint patterns, and those included with a kit purchase) were not part of the acquisition. As a result, if you want to maintain access to patterns that are located in your pattern library, you must download those patterns on or before August 20, 2020. Please see the FAQ’S for more information. For patterns located in the class materials section of your classes, TN Marketing plans to make those patterns available to you on their new Craftsy website on or around September 1, 2020. If you have any questions, please contact us here. “ |

Thanks for the heads up about the patterns. Will look into downloading although I think I did do that at the time of purchase.
Your plan for the stitchery is beautiful! Melanie is so talented, but of course, we all know where she got that.
I finished quilting a quilt (by machine) and now am doing a little catch up on projects here and there. I don’t feel like settling in to do anythign significant. Maybe it’s just a summer thing. We aren’t going anywhere either so no trips or events to look forward to! Guess we should plan a few summer day trips to get us out of the doldrums.
The Bluprint email is likely sitting in my inbox, but thanks for the heads up. I’m so glad you are happy with Morning Glory; it’s a beauty. I really do like it. I think mask making takes the oomph out of us, honestly. Glad you are taking some time to just relax and do some other things. The quilting will wait for you. Melanie’s stitchery will look lovely framed with that pretty red.
It is very weird to not have anything to look forward to, like a trip or visit with family! I’m feeling it, too. I think Morning Glory looks great the way you finished the top – you’ll have a chance to be very creative with the quilting in all that background space. I think I downloaded the patterns I wanted to keep from Craftsy quite a while ago, when all the changes first started. I guess I’d better go check that!
Morning Glory is definitely a GLORY, Karen. Just beautiful. And again kudos for the mask making. A rest is good sometimes and it gives you the chance to switch things up a little. I know I feel like a need a break just about now.
I will be featuring Morning Glory in next week’s Creative Compulsions. So pretty! Melanie does beautiful work! Your plan for completing it is perfect.
Morning Glory is looking fantastic. You above all people know your own limits on every project you tackle. Done is better than languishing away due to neglect! Sometimes we need a break from quilting, that’s just the way that it goes.:)
Hello sweet Karen… so glad I came to see your appliqued quilt top complete and put away now with binding cut too! What was it’s finished size? Will this glorious finish be a wall hanging somewhere when quilted??? Sew Excited and Morning Glory has already earned that name without quilting!! I love that red batik you are gonna put on the stitchery your daughter made and quilt it all together.. how fun that will be to use for Christmases to come now!
Life is fast forward around here…so sorry I haven’t been visiting as much! Kathi
You have done an AWESOME job on Morning Glory, and am looking forward to you getting into quilting it! Such joy with a flimsy finish!
Congrats on getting Morning Glory to the finished flimsy stage. The blue frame was a perfect solution to your dilemma. The Christmas stitchery is beautiful! You’ve been motoring along on several projects.
