The first border of Alaska was almost finished on Saturday evening but I just didn’t feel like sitting longer to finish it so I was working on that end again last night – close! With the mixture of cables and feathers the cables go quickly – the feathers don’t! It looks wrinkled on the end by the batting but that is the area that got water spritzed it was smooth while quilting – I just thought I would point that out because if I didn’t I know someone would let me know it was wrinkled LOL
This much to work on last night and then it was ready to roll down
One hexie diamond done that was started the previous day or two – I’m not sure how many I have now I would need to count them up – need a lot more for sure! Linking to Small Quilts and Doll Quilts — MCM#182 Cooking Up Quilts —
So much orange in the yard double blossomed day lilies by the deck
And Tiger Lilies all over the place – this is the biggest area and it is near the raised beds – this area is kind of wild and I doubt it will ever be totally under control
The butterfly weed and the crinum continue to flower

Your quilting is so neat – every stitch just right. I am sure Alaska will become a gorgeous spectacular quilt – crinkles and all. Yes, I see yellow and orange lilies everywhere.
My shasta daisies burst into bloom after we finally had rain late last week. I love summer flowers! My Stella Doro daylilies are about to bloom. They are pink, as opposed to the yellow ones. Your Alaska quilt is coming along well if you are already rolling that end up!
Lots of pretty orange blooms in your yard! When I see your daylilies, I always think I ought to plant some, too – then I forget about them when it’s time to plant. I wonder if they’re still selling them at the garden stores this time of year. Good progress on your Alaska quilting – looks great!
It must be lovely to sit on your porch and see all that pretty color in your yard! You are cracking right along on Alaska (I wouldn’t have noticed the wrinkling), and that hexie diamond is a pretty one!
Your flowers are really spectacular! So pretty! Great progress on Alaska.

I really admire hand quilting, since it’s not my forte. Beautiful flowers and hexes!
I like your flower stencil for the diamond and square! That’s neat, how you can just leave part of the stencil out to make it do double duty for different shapes. You could also rotate the stencil 90 degrees and add those leafy feather things above and below the flower in the square block. Nice job moving along with hand quilting, hexies, and gardening as well! All those orange flowers in the garden are lovely — and they have snuck into your quilting as well, with that center orange hexie looking as though you plucked it right from your garden!
You’ve been moving along with the quilting. Would love to see all your hexies up on the design wall.
