Has begun! This one piece makes it a step closer to being called done for Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds – but it will take a little while to accomplish that – but one piece of the border makes it closer to a complete rectangle.
As you can see from the cut off on this half hexie it quits before the middle row – when I am ready to make this square I will stitch all the way around the piece twice to make sure none of the EPP stitches come loose and then it will be ready for quilting. One could do a binding all the way around these pieces instead of straight but that should would make it harder.
Hand Quilting from Tuesday night on Alaska
It might be hard to tell what I am doing with the sweater – I am crocheting about 6 rounds all the way around the sweater – around the neck down the front sides and around the bottom to see if it will make that curl relax a little bit – this will also give me room to insert button holes down one side of the front and a place to sew buttons on – I have four wooden buttons for the sweater and I totally forgot button holes and seeing as I felt I needed to finish it off a little I thought I would try this – at first I briefly thought to do this in another color but same brand but I didn’t like how it looked so went back to the beige. Pockets will still be included. Crochet goes much faster for me so maybe I can this done this month still? We will see.

Your hexie table runner is going to be so pretty! I admire your perseverance!
The crocheted edge for the sweater really gives it a finished look. Very nice.
I’m pleased to see that you’re accomplishing your usual! Some days I just can’t motivate enough to accomplish much. I am so impressed with your hexie quilt and the progress you have made. You have so many skills to occupy your creative hours!
Love how the half diamonds are going to finish this off.
I like the look of the half diamond alongbthexedge, too! I can’t imagine matching a binding to the hexie shape, so I would probably cut the edges straight, too. Is that what you did with your previous hexie quilt? The crocheted edge looks great to finish off the sweater! That will be a good place for button holes, too. Glad that is working out!
Oh, love the look of the hexie quilt, and I agree that a straight edge to bind would be easier. You are coming up with some good solutions for your sweater finish!
