On To the Binding

The Halloween little table topper has the quilting done – now I need to decide what to use for the binding – it could be the same black and white stripe that the backing it or I have an orange fat quarter that would make enough that is the same as the outer sashing except it is – orange!  My machine quilting rows are now perfectly straight – far from it in some cases but once it is washed and dried it will be crinkly and just fine for me.

That back that makes me dizzy when I look at it too long!

So yes the binding of the same would be nice – but I will make up my mind soon.  But because I do not have white on the front I was thinking the orange stripe might be better – linking to To-Do-Tuesday —

The orange – I also have 2 orange prints that would work out as well

Working on one of the short rows for Lucy – this is it for this row – just the three and a side and bottom piece – the next row which is the last is one!

I just noticed this photo of Alaska is side ways but I am too lazy to change it – working on the dark red border part last night before rolling it down again.

Last day for the giveaway of Barbara Cline’s Star book there is still time to put in a chance on the quilt book shown here I have not answered everyone – but thanks for dropping by and the give away continues through October 6th with this last day being on the author’s blog – Barbara Cline – listed on that post –  so if you still want to sign up for it leave a comment on that post.  There are more stops to look at and more blogs to leave a comment on and see if you can win the digital copy of the book – I believe I will pick a winner on the 10th.

Have fun with your book giveaway today! It looks like a interesting book too 🙂 I love your Halloween table topper.. I am sure you will enjoy trying out different options for binding… I think solid would be nice since everything is so busy on that topper but part of Halloween is festivity so i don’t think you will go wrong. Your crochet is looking fabulous! I love your progress on Alaska and the hexies that make up Lucy too!

That orange stripey fabric is really fun. I’m sure you’ll come up with the one that feels best to you for that cute little quilt! Always fun to see your projects each day. You make good progress on each of them!

I always think of my straight line machine quilting as “straight-ish!” And you’re so right, after a trip through the washer and dryer, no one will even notice the quilting. I like that orange strip for the binding, too. This will be a fun finish!

Love the orange for the binding but, whatever you choose it’s going to be a cute Halloween decoration. I really love the new afghan.

Hi Karen! I like the orange stripe binding on your Halloween project but I know you’ll pick the one that makes your heart happy and sing. It’s a fun project for the season. Ooh, I like how the straight-line quilting looks on that back – that stripe makes me dizzy too. It’s funny how it looks like it’s moving if you stare at it a bit. Thank you for linking up this week! ~smile~ Roseanne

I feel the same about that backing fabric. Some dots do the same-make me dizzy/nauseous. I tend to save stripes for bindings. No matter which one you choose, the table topper will be lovely and done in time to enjoy it.

Binding! How exciting! Good luck with your choice. As always – good progress on the other 2.

Cute little seasonal table topper. I need to make something like this. A small quilt! . I have many table runners and table toppers, but do not have a Halloween quilt!

The little topper looks really nice. I think either choice for the binding would be fine. I am partial to stripey binding.
