Some days it is very much the same thing over and over – sew, kitchen work, sew, go outside walk around look at plants growing, sit on porch and knit (yes it was warm enough), back in the house look at the sewing and say I had enough, cook, go to bed and start again another day!
And today is Saturday so I will link up to SoScrappy and show my Love Letters block which now has one stem and flower/leaf’s done. The big center flower and area is done
See from the back you can see the progress
I discovered at looking at The Rose Garden pattern a little more that I had done the corners wrong – they weren’t to have different fabric in the corners they are all meant to be the same in the corners – but the border surrounding the 30 blocks they will be different I set to work to fix that and finish the block before I started the second.
The next block is kind of laid out in a somewhat organized pattern but by time I finished the first I didn’t feel like getting started on the second (I take that back after looking at it I realized I had done the corners) – I will get to it today – window is opened so a big ruler place over it to keep the pieces in order.
The corner — ok now that I have the layout right maybe I will get it right this time around.
Morning Glory from Thursday night – I had messed up some lines on the corner coming up and decided it was a good place to stop and spritz out the lines and redraw
I realized I had one more line to put in before I got started last nigh
Last fall I had a really large fern that I had no place for in the house so I cut it in half and they both made it through the winter on the windowsills. I will repot both pieces and see what I end up with this fall. Here is one of them
And the other – I don’t see any nights coming up in the 30s for the outlook and days high 50’s to 68 mainly so they will probably be ok outside.

With so many little pieces for your Rose Garden quilt it is easy to see how a mix up could happen. I really like your idea of putting all the cut pieces into tin trays. Makes everything so much more organized and easy to get to.
Glad you are having nicer weather. I am so waiting for spring and gardening.
Enjoy your weekend.
I agree that with so many little pieces it will be easy to miss things. Now that you have those corners in mind, you’ll do just fine.
Good thing you were able to fix the corners of your first Rose Garden block before you went any further. This quilt is going to be beautiful.
I am jealous that you are able to open your windows! Spring is coming but it’s not that warm here yet. The crocus and daffodils are blooming now, bringing color to the garden and brightening up my spirits. Your ferns are looking good.
I’m so glad that it’s getting to the time of year when there are things to do outside and we can spend more time doing them! We’re still waiting for our big Spring snowstorm to come, but no snow yet. It doesn’t sound like we’ll be outside much once it starts! Your green Love Letters block sure says Spring! It makes sense that the corners of the Rose Garden block would match the center – good you noticed that and got it fixed. That’s such a pretty design!
The Love Letters rainbow blocks are stunning!
Love Letters is gorgeous!!
Love letters is looking great! It is so much easier to see the progress on the back. Slow and steady will get you there!
Here the same type of daily routine became standard for a year now, and now we have to be ready for increasingly cold days as fall is around the corner, and Pandemic crisis as worse and worse every day. Enjoy the high temperatures and all the bless os Spring days, Karen.
Rose Garden Block is wonderful, so many tiny pieces!
Always nice when you can open the window and get fresh air in the house in the spring. I hear you on the days being on repeat. I’m just thankful the humidity is calm right now… starting to get a wee bit hot for me though. I might get a little outside stitching in with chicken company- that is always entertaining.
Dear Karen,
Those corners, do they create stars when they get sewn to another unit where these pieces meet ? It is a beautiful pattern and fabric kit. It is so noise to know that we can look forward to warmer weather and gardening. Sometimes we get tired of the same routine over and over, other times it give us comfort and ground us when we need just the ordinary. Enjoy your relaxing and knitting on the porch.
Love Letters is so pretty! The blocks on Rose Garden are pretty complicated, but they sure are pretty. I’m glad your weather is being kinder to your plants.

You have made a great start on your green flower urn, thanks for showing the back. Pleased your ferns made it through the cold of winter, they will no doubt get growing again now the weather is slowly warming up.
Nice start on your new GREEN block!
That is a lot of pieces for one block. Glad you caught the error before you got to block two. The Love Letters block is looking great. That’s a lot of stitching for just a few days.
