Stars and Quilting

I showed my red blocks for the RSC21 Stars quilt that I am making the other day and here is all that I have done so far – so I have 5 more months of colors to make so that is 10 more blocks to be added.  These blocks if I remember right are 17 inches or so – I will be linking to So Scrappy today– Quilting, Patchwork, Applique —

I just didn’t get around to the red applique yesterday I was outside working digging up the garden so I can get my tomatoes planted and got a little done around the house as well as running in town to get a prescription.  I guess I can try to get to the applique today right – in between working on the garden.  I did get a little more of the blue Love Letters applique done – this quilt is also going with the SoScrappy RSC group – this is the area left to finish

Quilting on Country Charmer which was my RSC20 project top  – I have found making whatever quilts I want to for the RSC group by following the color selected each month has been helpful in using up my scraps.

I had showed a photo yesterday of a flower that according to the package was supposed to be Dutch Iris’s well they sure didn’t look like what I remembered them to be so I used the plant ap on my phone and found out that yes the bulbs were mislabeled and it says they are “common corn-flag gladioli” and yes they look much more like a gladioli then an iris!!  I had never heard of this variety have you?

Your rainbowy blocks are looking fantastic. Looking forward to seeing your bright happy quilt at the end of the year. Those are some really beautiful flowers.

Your stars are going to make a beautiful quilt!

I love that your iris turned out to be a gladioli…. That doesn’t look common as the name implies though! I love all your Quilty progress too!

Yes I see more gladioli than iris in your pink plant! Your RSC blocks look great together.

The star blocks look really cool. You have some very fun RSC projects in the works.

Neat secondary pattern with the stars! Is there going to be sashing between the blocks?

Such pretty flowers, even if they were not what you thought they were going to be

I always love seeing the progression of RSC blocks as the months go on! Your star blocks look great together, and I especially like how you’ve made each one in either a brighter or darker shade of the color. It’s good to be out working in the garden when the days are nice. That plant identification app sounds helpful!

Your RSC blocks are so pretty! Well, at least your mislabeled plant was a pretty one!

    Dear Karen,
Surprise bulb? Bonus. Now you have a beautiful pink beauty in the garden. Great projects and so much progress on all of them. Have a wonderful day.

So many pretty RSC quilts in progress. I was thinking it looks like a glad rather than an iris.

Loving your star blocks! And Love Letters, I really like Country Charmer! Truthfully, I like all your blocks! And your iris who really is a gladioli!

Lovely reds in all your projects! I love the quilting on the 2020 RSC quilt.

I’ve never heard of that flower before, but in my opinion, it looks more lily-like than anything else. SEW glad that you got some stitching done, Karen!!

All your projects are coming along so well!

Your RSC 20 and 21 are beautiful! Pretty blue appliqué block too. And this flower… lovely! I don’t know this variety either, but it’s very beautiful.

Nice seeing all of your RSC blocks together! I’ve not heard of that variety of gladioli either. In fact I’ve only seen gladioli planted in a garden once when I was a kid. That’s been awhile ago! LOL!

  • Sue, a Florida Farm Girl May 10, 2021 @ 15:58

Oh, I’m really liking that RSC21 stars quilt!

  • Vicki Welsh May 10, 2021 @ 20:58
