This little quilt is growing slowly I am only working on it about a week at a time for the last couple months although the quilt was started last year (before I went and decided to make 5 RSC quilts). To get these small Friendship Stars moving along a little faster I took time to set up all the pieces needed for each star so I can assembly them faster.
One border is now added – 3 more to go! I will add a red narrow border all around when the other 3 borders are finished and then decide what I want to do next – I have a lot of pieces cut out as the original pattern had said to cut all the pieces first – then I decided to do it differently and have all these tiny pieces to use LOL. I think the next border will be a patchwork of some size to use up some of the 1.5 inch squares – maybe a nine patch block all the way around – I will count pieces and see what I have.
Love this color combo.
Love Letters from Wednesday night
I was going to go out of town for the whole weekend but plans changed – a family reunion is taking place but because of heavy rain the event is being moved inside and because of covid concerns and a packed house we are not going – I am on immune suppressants and I’m not going to take a chance – I know how much my family talks and eats- face masks will not be worn and I can just see all the germs flying with 40+ people mainly in two rooms – no thank you – I will try for a wedding at the end of October instead – that event is supposed to be outside too – I guess we will see how that goes – we need the rain so I won’t complain. I know I could wear a mask the whole time except when eating, but it is going to be too crowded in a small space to feel safe.

Accuquilt Online event: Qube relaunch and bundles! Only problem is I don’t know the price on them – that was not released to me at this time– Special intro pricing on the qube and bundles thru July 31 — also 2x reward points today and tomorrow.
If you have been on the fence about the English Paper Piecing Qube now is the time to take advantage – regular price is $399.99 right now as an overstock is it marked down to $239.99. I have been so tempted to get this set – I need to decide soon – will it ever be marked down this low again?

You are wise to avoid large crowds. The new strain of covid sounds very contagious This weekend is our annual summer festival with lots of activities outside, thank goodness. Still, there are tents set up in case of rain, and I wonder how safe anyone will be if they are crowded. I’m packing my masks and will put one on when needed.
I hear you about Covid. It doesn’t take a break when you lower your mask to eat. We are being really careful too, even though every one else in our community acts as if Covid is over.
I love what you are doing with the red and white quilt, it will be a stunner.
I’m with you on avoiding the crowd, even if it is family. We can’t let our guard down. Your sewing looks very organized to me. I’m a messy sewer. ?
Red and white is such a pretty color combination! I love what you’re doing with the Rose Garden quilt now. It’s too bad you have to miss the family reunion, but I agree with you on being safe rather than having the chance of getting Covid. It’s so frustrating that we are still having to deal with one variant after another.
Dear Karen,
Love letters and your Rose garden both looks amazing. Have a wonderful weekend.
I think you’ve made a wise decision about the reunion. I’m amazed at how many people are taking no precautions any more, even though this new variant is more transmissible and reinfections are increasing. All of your projects are coming along. I don’t know how you find time to work on so many at the same time.
Smart move to avoid the crowded gathering. I’m trying to get over covid right now and it seems to be lingering. No crowds in my past and no clue where I was exposed but I was. DH is fine and he was in the same places. Thankfully my case was pretty mild. Thank goodness for vaccines and boosters. I like those stars for the border. Unless you just want to make it bigger, I’d finish the stars and call it done with a binding.
Sounds like a smart decision to avoid the inside crowds. More time to stay home and sew, right? Everything is looking great on the projects front. I really need to just try the EPP, I don’t know what is holding me back other than it being ‘new’ for me. I don’t know why I always hesitate with new things, thinking they will be hard I guess.
Hey Karen… took me a while to catch up on your recent posts! I love the dark red between the stars on rose garden!! Love that soon your main hand quilting project will be off the frame! I love having a back up camera in our suv… hope you enjoy your new hundai a lot… it is very pretty looking on the outside!
I love what you are doing with norikos project! I love the roses ? you are grooming so nicely! The shirt you altered looks so nice too! Sorry to respond on sooo many posts on this one! Very impressed with your progress overall though!!! Glad your giddy with your new car!!!

Love the way the red quilt is coming along. So sorry you won’t be able to attend this weekend, but it sounds like the right decision. So hard to miss these things, but we must take care of ourselves first. Hope the weather hold for the next event so you can attend!
Those pretty little friendship stars make such a lovely border.
Glad to see you are working your way through Rose Garden again. It’s going to be too pretty to let languish.
I don’t think people are taking the pandemic seriously anymore. I know my friends aren’t. They are “so over it”. No one I know is immuno-compromised, so they just blow it off, and the numbers continue to climb.
Every time I look at the Roses quilt, I wonder if you’d want to toss in some applique or EPP. Just a thought. 🙂
You mentioned rain-are you getting measurable rain?
It’s SO pretty! Well worth your time.
We wear masks, too. But only go to a grocery store once a week. We’ve had Covid last September and even what was deemed a ‘mild’ case was horrid! Do what you feel is right. And keep on with your wonderful quilting 🙂
I’m sorry you can’t spend the weekend with your family but we all have to make the best decisions for our own health. I guess you’ll just have to sew!
Found it – thanks, love it.
I just came upon your blog and saw your Rose Garden quilt. It is beautiful!
I love the color combinations.
Do you have this pattern for sale or where could I buy this pattern?
I would love to get the pattern for this quilt. Where is it available?
