I am trying to get the sewing room straightened out and more things up higher instead of lower (not going to happen, too much stuff!) and I got a little bit done but not a lot. I forgot to take a before photo – but I had the canvas boxes in the next photo stacked in the corner with yarn and on top of the plastic scrap box
The yarn is now on the top shelf in those boxes except the one basket you can barely see in the above photo in the corner of the room. Why do I have so much yarn LOL I don’t even have a yarn project going all the time. Depending on what all I use over the next year or two some might be donated to get rid of it.
Little by little over the next month I am trying to organize – because of organizing though I didn’t work on the Arkansas Traveler block but did sit outside for a time working on the hexies and have the next section ready to add to the quilt – it is the one on the lower right edge – you can see it is not attached. One section after another and it will get done! A lot more to go after this! Linking to Wendy’s Quilts and More —
This part of Love Letters was quilted on Wednesday night – one or two more nights and it will be done.
I pulled a muscle in my upper left thigh last week and have not been walking much letting it heal -that is why so much sewing has been accomplished in the last 9 days – I did have x-rays taken on my leg to see if it was a stress fracture but none showed on the x-ray – they do not always show up but I will not over do and wait for it to heal as I want to get back to my walking schedule but I know not to rush it. I hadn’t been down to the garden in ages because of that and slowly walked to it last night to look things over – and found another small grouping of blackberries growing – these should be ripe next week – on the bed over from this I found blossoms of another variety growing as well but they are very tiny.
The tomato plants are growing again as well – this one had one leaf left on it when I trimmed it – there are some blossoms on the other plants that are growing back but they do not look like they will mature – we will see.

Dear Karen,
The sewing room is too hot, it even has a ceiling fan. When that gets turned on it cools the room and blows everything all over the room. Only going in it to fetch some things needed to work on handwork and stitching. Your sewing room is going to be spicy and span. Love the yarn on the top shelf, we may not do much with it but we do use it. Your hexies is growing and it looks amazing.
Enjoy your weekend.
Happy to see your garden still growing. Keeping my fingers crossed for a fall tomato! I hope your thigh heals quickly.
Our blackberries are finished for the season. My husband loves them.
Those bins on the top shelf are colorful and fun! Not long now for Love Letters – do you have the binding picked out? Hope your leg heals quickly – those kinds of things are so frustrating when you have things you want to do! I bet it was fun to see more blackberries on the bush. I have a bunch of tomatoes, but they are taking their time ripening!
I am sure this winter you will pull out some yarn and whip up something. Organization is a good thing so we’ll forgive you if you didn’t sew the AT blocks, LOL.
The new hexie strips look so good with the existing Star. I think you got the colors just right! It really pops. Yay for more blackberries! Good to take it easy on the leg.
Sorry to read about your sore leg, you are right to rest more and let it heal. Although I imagine that rest and relaxation would be hard for such an always on the go person like you. All you projects are coming along well.
I hope your leg gets better quickly – sounds like you are doing everything right. I have lots of yarn in my sewing room closet – it takes up several shelves and looks pretty, but I have nothing going on either! What fun to discover things in the garden! In spite of the heat and the dogs tromping through and us excavating weeds around it, my pepper plant is thriving and has several peppers on it – makes me so happy.
