Now I could leave this top this size – adding corners and sides in the white with black polka dots or I could continue to let it grow. At first I had put the new light green in the wrong spot and was thinking I needed to make one more block if I have it as a table runner but then remembered how I planned it and moved it to the end. Right now as is after seams are done it is about 50 x 100 but after quilting, washing and drying it would shrink up a bit. My table is 41×54 without the extension which is barely ever used so I might play around with design a little. I like it on point – but in regular rows it would fit the table better – we will see – It will now be put away while I work on other RSC quilts for October – 4 more to go. Right now I am thinking of possibly carrying this one over to next year and make more blocks and have it be bed size which might look better than on the table. The star die on the right is for my birthday it arrived yesterday along with a second tall rack for BOB’s – the die on the left the disappearing nine patch was added to my collection in early summer when all the good sales were going on. I happened across the pattern that I printed out from accuquilt web site and thought how good they look together so these two dies will become a two block quilt. Of course now I need to rearrange my space for holding the two racks! (the pattern is free on the site)
Work has started again on the Noriko’s Star hexagon quilt – this is the beginning of the second of six star points.
Quilting on Yuletide Gatherings from Wednesday night – getting back into my groove.
Of course with all this sewing going on the crochet has once again been put aside. I grew tired of the circles and put all the yarn that is being used in that into my large yarn basket and it filled it up what with the yarn that had been left in the box at home. I think instead of a circle blanket I will make a leftover yarn scrappy blanket and maybe sew the circles to it – just an idea for now – we will see where that idea goes as I have way too many things going on right now as it is!! And thank you Karla at Crafting a Life for an idea for the green/white yarn that I picked up in Virginia – I printed out the free knitting pattern and will be looking at it. (Palindrome Scarf) now to figure out if it would look right with about 5 or six rows of each color – or more-and switching off.

That palindrome scarf is really a nice pattern – reversible, too. I have trouble with cables – that might be a good pattern for me for the next time I make a scarf. I like that it “lies flat,” another problem of mine.
I love the look of your carpenter’s star blocks now but I see the problem using them as a table runner. I’m sure whatever you end up doing will be very pretty!
That’s a beautiful hat and scarf pattern! May need to look for yarn
Sounds fun to get new dies for your Accuquilt, and plan for a new quilt design! The Carpenter’s Wheel blocks you have there would make a huge tablerunner – I bet you would be happier with them as a bed-sized quilt. You’re so successful at making large quilts! That looks like pretty scarf pattern! I’ve been learning to crochet this week – I can now do single and double crochet stitches! Eventually I’ll have to come up with something to actually make beyond just this practice piece I’ve been working on.
I love the Glorified Star of the East pattern from Accuquilt. You will have fun planning your next new quilt. Carpenter’s Wheel sure is pretty with all its great colors. Looks like you might be back in your creative routine again, since returning home.
I love the disappearing nine patch + star quilt! I’ve pinned it for the future. (Of course I’ve pinned so many quilts, I need to live to be 1000 if I were to have any chance of doing all of them.) The Carpenter’s Wheel is beautiful. Decisions, decisions! Whatever you decide, I know it will amazing.
Since the Carpenter’s Wheel block is so big I think it would show off the pattern more as a bed quilt. If you are enjoying making the blocks it would be a good one to carry over to next year.
The new star die looks like fun. I was tempted but I’ll wait and see if they offer any of the newer dies in a black Friday sale.
The carpenter wheel blocks are looking great. What a fun birthday present! Those two do look great together. I saw the Isosceles triangle on clearance for a good price…. debating with myself on getting it. I’ll probably wait as I still gave a lot of dies I have yet to use.
Decisions, decisions! I love blocks on point, but that does usually make for a larger quilt! I’m glad you’re getting back into your hand quilting groove, your quilt is looking fabulous.:) It’s great to be dreaming of new patterns too. I love when there are many wonderful ideas simmering.
Looks amazing! I hope you keep it on point. Love your basket full of yarn. I am starting on knitting a hat today.

Those new dies look like they will be fun. I like the Carpenter’s Wheel on point; such pretty colors!
Lots of different projects going on at your place. Carpenters Wheel would make a great quilt! It would definitely be too big for my dining room table. I always have to “think smaller” when it comes to table runners! Good luck with the knitting. I’m going to take a sock knitting class in November. It’s something I’ve always wanted to learn to do. I might fail, but I’m going to try!
Those Carpenter’s Wheel blocks are absolutely stunning! Have fun with those new dies.
I’ve never seen a Carpenter’s Wheel layout like that. It’s amazing! Love the colors, too.
lots of fun projects in the sewing room! I love how the carpenter’s wheel is coming along!!
