Noriko’s Star

The second star point is coming along – faster each row of course – I had the 6th row stitched together before the end of the day and then attached to the body of it by early evening.

When this second star point is done it will be easier to start sketching out the area that goes in between.  I feel that the second point has to be attached before I can figure it out for sure – there are three sections that go in between these two star points – so figure it out I must!

Earlier in the day after I exhausted myself outside in the strawberry beds, moving mulch out of the bed and digging, planting, replacing mulch etc I sat down at the machine for 30 minutes and ran up 3 more Crossed Canoe blocks – leaving only 5 left to make.  Linking to Midweek Makers today

One row of blocks left to do. The comes several days of moving blocks around deciding on final color placement.

This much left to do on this row before I roll it down for the final time.

This bed is complete other than more mulch – rhubarb transplanted on one end.

This area is the one I am currently working on, I got all the mulch moved off and I got the whole thing dug up yesterday – today I need to get some more dirt from areas Mike had recently been digging in which left excess that I will move to the bed before I add the strawberries.

I’m taking strawberry plants out of this area so I can thin the space out a  bit.  I have a feeling I will run out of space before I can do anything with the final bed not shown which  is just as thick as this one is.  But I think before I start to play in the dirt I will go vote early so I don’t have to clean up to do that.

That will be exciting to get the second star point done and figure out how to make the in between parts.

It looks like a big job to transplant all those strawberries! I would be exhausted, too. Fun to see your progress on Noriko’s Star, and I’m curious to see what connects the star points, too. Love that green print in your top canoe block – you’re getting close on those!

Noriko’s Star is coming along nicely, it will be fun to see that second point on there and then where you go from there. You’ve been busy indoors and out!

Oh yes, that’s a big interesting space between the two points on Noriko’s Star. LeMoyne Star / Crossed Canoes quilt is amazing. The two blocks work so well together. Big job with the strawberries!

That is a lot to accomplish in your strawberry beds. I hope they do well next year. Maybe we are due for a normal spring and summer next year.
