A Little Quilting

Thank you for all the ideas given yesterday for the Noriko’s Star hexagon, I have a lot of ideas to try and see how they look  – that might take a couple days!! A lot of you seemed to agree on certain things like maybe the yellow and the turquoise in number four needed to be lighter but then good – also remove the yellow hexie at the top and maybe replace it with a gray.  And that is a good idea – to close to the yellow in other areas there.  I plan to play around with it for a couple days – no need to rush – I do think I am leaning towards number 4 but with a few changes. I think I answered all emails that gave suggestions but I might have missed a few I was using my phone while I was waiting for my appointment and later in the car.   I apologize if I missed you.  While I’m doing that I will also start on the third side of the border for Rainbow Crossings which I haven’t touched in a couple days.

Well not much got done yesterday in the quilting room.  My 10:20 appointment stretched on and on waiting to be seen – I knew as soon as we pulled in to the parking lot that there was going to be a long wait and was so glad I had brought my kindle along for the wait – The parking lot was packed, the waiting room which is very large stretched out forever serving I don’t know how many doctors, name after name was called and finally after an hour my name was called and I was shuttled off to an exam room, followed by more waiting, then a decision another x-ray was needed, then back to wait some more – finally after 2 hours I was out the door and heading to lunch.  Needless to say I do not like it when doctors over book their time – no apology given, no reason for the delay – I’m I in the majority when I think my time is important too?  Or is everyone very understanding about this?   I did get an injection in the right thumb again but turned down one in the left thumb as two shots tend to increase my blood pressure for about a week and I don’t like the feel of that.

We went to lunch and then Sam’s which thankfully wasn’t crowded and we had hit the tail end of the lunch crowd at the hamburger place we chose.  I hadn’t slept well the night before so it was kind of a tiring day and picked up something for supper on the way home instead of cooking I placed a zita & meatballs dish in the oven to bake while I relaxed!

Just a little quilting to share and that was done on Tuesday night

Glad you have the injection behind you and hope you feel the difference today! Do you keep amaryllises in pots year round? I always plant mine outside in the spring,

I totally agree that overbooking is rude. Our time is valuable too. It used to happen a lot when I lived in southeast KS. I haven’t run into that as much here. I am really enjoying watching your progress across Butterflies. The fabrics are all so pretty, and your quilting is lovely.

Does your doctor’s office send out a survey to ask how you thought the visit went? If so, the long wait could be something you stress as a place for them to improve! Glad you enjoyed the input we gave on Noriko’s Star – no matter what you choose, it will be beautiful. I haven’t grown amaryllis for years, but I know you do every year – do you save the bulb from year to year or get new ones? Good luck with them – they can be so pretty!

I agree about waiting for doctors and once complained that my time was important too. It was pretty routine several years ago but now the hospital sends out customer surveys and they have reduced the wait time to 15 minutes for any doctor that uses that hospital system.

I agree-I don’t like when doctors overbook. A friend who works for a medical group nearby told me that they’re slotted only 15 minutes per patient. Sometimes, that’s just not enough. Especially with telehealth visits. It can be very challenging to get information back and forth.
I hope the shot works for you for a decent amount of time; mine seem to be one good, one not so good, one good, and so on.

I don’t like the overbooking either. All it takes is one patient running late or saying “while I’m here, what about…” to cascade the whole schedule to be late. Also it’s probably not the doctors’ choice – it could be the business group that makes orders to schedule things so tightly. In other words – the last people I’d blame is the doctor, nurses, and office people.

Thank you for posting the photo of Noriko’s Star yesterday. I was wondering how much more there is to it. Wow, what a stunner. I’m not sure I’d have the gumption to start it, let alone the discipline to stick with it.

Ugh! I hating waiting at the doctor’s office and you are right about the attitude of many of them. I know you will come up with the perfect solution for your version of Noriko’s Star.
