Well I had intended to take a walk and get some sewing done – got the walk in but not the rest. Melanie had a migraine so no walk with her – instead Mike and I decided for a day out – a nice long drive taking a route to Little Rock that didn’t involve the interstate and stopping at 3 places for some shopping, lunch and more shopping – we didn’t get back home until early evening. It got up to 66 degrees outside there – I don’t know what it was here – probably 62 or so as it was in the high 50’s when we got home.
I did watch a little news in the evening and got the hexies started – barely – stitching the big triangle in place on Noriko’s Star – then I moved to the sewing room to do some quilting. Linking to Small Quilts and Doll Quilts –
This quilting on Rainbow Crossings is from Saturday night
I had to roll the quilt down last night before I got started and back to the beige/brown and then pinks which are more interesting – the beige is hard to see the quilting on.

Sounds like an enjoyable day – it’s always nice to get out of the house and go somewhere different! Looks like your new section of NS is going to be just right for that spot. Hope you’re happy with it! Pretty greens in this area of your quilting, too.
Dear Karen,
Those unexpected days when we just go with the flow, relax and explore is good for the soul. Glad you got out and had a wonderful day. The hexies looks perfect, you got the best colours to compliment the other ones and it is going to be a beautiful quilt.
A day out at 66 degrees is just what you needed after the ice storm. Sounds perfect! And you still managed to sew, I’m impressed!
I like the sound of your day. Those spontaneous trips are the best! I really love the greens you used in your blocks.
Sounds like it was perfect to be out and about yesterday in warmer weather. I need a outing besides running to the grocery store!
It sounds like you had a nice day out “in the wild.” We’ve been out a lot more than normal but not so much I haven’t been able to get some things done in the studio.
It’s always nice go get out and about, especially when lunching out is involved.
It is nice to get out and about for the day. Karen, your quilting is so beautiful . and your hexies are looking fabulous
Sounds like a fun day! I hope Melanie is feeling better now.
