Yesterday I had some errands to run and wasn’t in the sewing room a lot but I did get all the foundation papers printed that I need to finish the Snails Trail
Underneath all that paper I started to make some stacks of fabric for the square above – still more to pull – thank you to Rebecca Grace Quilting for mentioning the ream of foundation papers she got on Amazon – nice and cheap and fast – the weight is just right! I have used several brands from the quilt shops and this feels exactly the same to me and rips off easily.
This is just some of what I need and need a lot of diamonds and background – only 3 diamonds cut so will need a lot of those still – (this is rough cut for foundation)
Several daffodils have opened but the ground was so wet walking across to take this photo that I sunk about 3 inches or more and had to wash off my shoes when I got back!! I didn’t bother to go to the other couple I saw open – more rain today – yuck! But at least I don’t think we will get the snow that is possible across the northern part of the state.

Finished this section on Wednesday night and rolled the frame down

I saw some daffodils blooming at an old abandoned farmhouse yesterday. They always make me smile! Looks like you are steadily progressing on all your projects!
I always enjoy seeing your early daffodils! Gives me hope that spring is on its way, even here! I didn’t realize you could order inexpensive paper like that for paper-piecing – that looks like a really good deal. I’m guessing it’s pretty lightweight, too – more than regular printer paper – so easier to tear off. You’ll have that next section for NS together in no time!
My daffodils are up too and a few opened yesterday. Thanks for sharing about the cheap paper from Amazon. I did a little paper piecing too this week. Very nice star blocks.
I’ve started with my new hexies too. My daffodils are just poking out of the ground. I was so glad to see them. The rest of the yard still looks dead.
All your projects are coming along nicely!
I miss daffodils. I wonder if I could get them to pop up down here? The quilting is looking great.
Our daffodils are only greens, no blooms, so far (in north central Texas).
I admire your hand quilting! Our senior center has a group who hand quilts. Money raised goes to the center. I have been on the look out for variegated thread without luck finding any. Where do you buy yours? Thanks!
How nice to see daffodils blooming! We probably won’t see them until May as they are in the shade at the front of the house here.
Thanks for the info about the newsprint. I have some in my cart (Amazon) – it will come in handy for the next Dear Jane blocks.
I’ll have to keep that paper in mind when my current supply of deli paper is used up.
