Winter to Humid Spring

One day it is 40 degrees and two days later 78, humid and so humid in the house I put the A/C on in the evening to chase the humidity out!  crazy.

I said I was going to take a couple days away from the sewing machine and I didn’t touch it other to make sure it was unplugged with storms coming in today.  The hexies were worked on

and a little more knitting on the back of the sweater

Bread was made in the bread maker – this one is Italian Bread – you could of course form it into long skinny loafs or whatever you want but I went ahead and used the bread maker for the whole thing.

the recipe is in an old bread machine recipe book – I skipped the first step of heating the oil and herbs in a pan and just put it all in the bread machine

Sliced up good and slices were soft – as usual one bag went in the freezer to use later in the week and one stays out to use.  If I don’t do that we could eat it all in one day!

The quilt was rolled down to the last bit to quilt – that design wall looks so bare  – it will be filled in soon.  I do believe I will get the Hunters Star blocks back out – it almost filled up the wall so won’t take more than 40 blocks or so to finish I think – but I could be wrong – it is big so I will continue it to large queen size and use up more scraps.

And three half blocks were quilted on Wednesday night

You definitely need to fill the design wall! Your weather sure has been strange and to need the AC already(I would have for the humidity too).

    Dear Karen,
Crazy to know you had to turn on the A/C. We still have snow banks on the lawn, with more snow and freezing rain coming in tomorrow. Today will be sunny and above freezing by just a few degrees. The design wall will be full of colours soon. Baking bread always makes the house smell so good. Have a great day.

Em was cleaning the kitchen up last night and was asking if it was hot in here. I told her to check the thermostat – it was 80 degrees inside, and the switch was on heat. I had her flop it to AC…. I guess the concrete house warmed up with the mid to upper 80’s the last couple of days. AC will be on until December or January now…. The design wall looks so barren!

Crazy, roller-coaster weather! I’m not ready for hot and humid, but some 60s would be nice here. I love the pretty, mellow colors in that section of NS. Pretty blues in the star and string blocks you’re quilting right now, too. Looks like that one’s almost done!

Lovely delicately coloured hexies, Karen. Tasty sounding and looking bread. Lovely knitting too. How quickly your spring has come on for the most part. We had downpours of rain yesterday and a hard freeze overnight. Ground like steel out there now.

It’s supposed to be 83 here today. Crazy! I will be out in the garden as soon as I drink my coffee. Your design wall does look weird! It’s got to feel wonderful to see that last row on the quilt rack. The hexies and knitting look great!

You are so close to finishing and to starting again with another large quilt! Amazing. I always throw something on my design wall…being empty bothers me somehow! Weather does seem to change quickly and the shoulder season can be really hard to figure out what to do – heat or ac! Our bedroom gets hot pretty quickly so we often need to cool it off with the ac long before the season, if there is no wind!

The design wall does look a little empty!

Your bread looks delicious! I can almost taste it! We woke up in Mississippi this morning. It’s 76 and muggy here. Thankfully, our daughter is running the a/c. It supposed to be 86 tomorrow for our granddaughter’s outside birthday party. ? enjoy your stitching today.

That is what I am afraid of, that once we finally get some warm weather it will be humid. We might get snow yet this weekend so I don’t have to worry about it yet.
It will be fun to see Hunter Star up on the wall again.
