Piecing and Basting

Considering I had a dentist appointment to take up part of my afternoon and a headache when I got home I still got done with a bit.  I normally work through a headache as it distracts me and sometimes it disappears – didn’t this time but I was still productive.

One section of Noriko’s Star was taken out to the porch for thread basting and then finished it while watching the evening news

More netting added to one of the berry beds yesterday morning before it got hot – and yes it has gotten hot here 87 yesterday by late afternoon – berry picking or work in the garden is in the morning or after supper.  I don’t know yet if I will need to cover the raspberries from the birds the berries are still green but there are a lot of them considering last year I only had 10 or less berries – this is the 2nd summer so they are maturing .  This started from 2 plants

Tomatoes are planted on 3 sides of the fence (inside) and I will tie them to the fencing when needed – I am beginning to find tomatoes growing and they are covered with blossoms – I had a photo of the tall blackberry bushes too but it accidently got deleted when I was cropping it – I will take another another day

And the first of the roses blooming around the garden – I do not remember the name of this one I planted it last spring and it had beautiful blooms, I don’t know if the tag is still in there at ground level last year we had trouble with gophers and I feared they did a lot of damage but the roses are all coming up now although at the beginning of spring I thought I had lost four plants

Still have some iris’s but they are beginning to fade.

Little by little you’re getting those HS blocks finished! Looks like your berries are growing really well for you this year, too. We used to have a neighbor who grew raspberries along our shared fence, and some came through the fence to our side. They were so delicious!

You accomplished a lot in spite of the dental appt! Your two new HS blocks are really pretty colors. Your green thumb is still green, because everything seems to be thriving. That’s a beautiful rose. We had a hail storm yesterday. My garden looks fine, but my clematis flowers have marble size holes in them. Hope your day is good!

You did get a lot done in spite of your dentist appointment and a headache. Your rose and Iris are so pretty!

I agree–you got a lot of work done despite that headache. Love your Hunters Star blocks! What a pretty quilt that will make. Thanks for sharing everything on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

We haven’t been able to put plants in the ground yet. DH started a few seedlings in the house a while back. I did get the Calla bulbs in last weekend. I can hardly wait for raspberry season to start-in a couple months!

Love the Hunters Star – started collecting colors. Planting after Mother’s day. Only a few plants from local sale and 2 new roses.
Thanks for a wonderful website “chat”.
