I finally got done with the first neutral segment on Noriko’s Star that starts the next round on the hexagon quilt. Now I need to make 11 more and the flower colors will vary.
I wasn’t sure if I would attach it right away to the main body of the quilt or wait until all 12 were done but I decided it was best to attach to make sure it fit right. The quilt top is getting large for the area of the floor I have been laying out in so it was to be the bed. It was a little larger than I expected when I put it on the queen size bed but I do like a quilt with plenty of overhang (and allow for shrinkage after it is quilted) Linking to Midweek Makers #411 — Wednesday Wait Loss #356 —
I folded it up a little in the middle so I could work and then pinned in a couple places to make sure I stitched in the right area! This border will still keep the hexagon shape – the next and close to last will start to square off by working on each corner
I did start to work on the final arc for this NYB block and as I knew I would run into trouble with it I wasn’t surprised when I threw in the towel early and gave up for the day – plus I’m still getting PT on my neck and lower back and had to leave for awhile anyhow. The appointment ran long and it was time to get started on supper by time I got home – I plan to finish it today
Quilting on Arkansas Traveler from Monday night – I really do expect it to be well towards the end of December before it gets finished as that final border will take an entire week at least to quilt and there will be one or two more turns of the rollers before I can start to reach it.

One thing I don’t like about paper piecing – and there are many! – is not being able to fix things by fudging to fit. When I use it for teensy DJ blocks, I find they just don’t look right, so I give up and applique. But I’m sure you’ll get it all to work for you – you’ve got the skill!
I love the way Noriko’s Star is coming together. It’s going to be huge and beautiful!
Noriko’s Star is beautiful and big!!! Look at all your wonderful hand work! I saw Amaryllis’s yesterday, but they were sitting outside in the cold. I was thinking they should be inside??? I didn’t buy one.
Noriko’s Star is SO big! I like the windows in your bedroom – all of ours are tall too. I would have floor to ceiling windows if I could. 😀 Hope your PT went well.
Noriko’s Star is coming along beautifully! You’ve put such work into that project and it definitely shows. Hope the break from that most recent NYB quilt helps you finish the assembly. Looks like you are close to being finished.
Noriko’s Star is beautiful. You are doing a fabulous job of choosing colors.
So fun to see your hexie laid out on the bed, gives it a whole new perspective on how big it really is.
Noriko’s Star looks so amazing on your bed! I can see why this NYB is giving you fits.
You must be getting so excited now that Noriko’s Star is getting so close! It looks amazing on the bed.
Look at Noriko’s Star – that’s amazing! I had no idea it was that big already. Seeing it on the bed really gives you the right perspective. It’s so beautiful! The NYB block section looks like it’s coming along, too – just finicky!
It’s nice to see Noriko’s Star on the bed to judge the size it is getting to be. It’s really pretty.
That’s a lot of hexies! How long have you been working on Noriko’s Star? It’s looking good.
Tes ouvrages avancent bien et ton Étoile de Noriko est superbe.
Amicalement
Noriko’s Star looks so stunning on the bed! Excited by how close you are to the finish. It’s been wonderful to watch you make this. Lovely NYB blocks as usual, and the quilting on Arkansas Traveler is also nearing the end! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
