A Lazy Day

Mother’s Day was a fairly lazy day for me.   I texted with Jessica  and Melanie came over.  The strawberry pie was great!  I shared a photo of it yesterday but here it is again for anyone that missed it.  I will be making it again.

The crust was a nut crust – I had wondered if it was too thick but it seemed just right.  I used almonds and walnuts as that is what I had.

The Filling

I got the hanging plants on the porch put in larger pots – now they have room to grow

Oregano was cut – all six trays full.  I turned the dehydrator on before I went to bed and it will be done this morning.  There was too much to just use fresh.

Another hexie flower made — I am linking to Design Wall Monday —

And some flowers cut before the rain started.

A little more was made on the quilt that I can’t show right now – trying for six more blocks and see where that takes me.

That view from your deck and those hanging plants and the purple flower vine spilling over the rail is so pretty! Glad your girl came over and that you had a good day. That pie!! I’ve seen nut crusts in the store and they are expensive, I’m glad to have a recipe and know that it is a good one. Is it crisp or is the texture kind of like a graham cracker crust?

So glad you enjoyed your Mother’s Day! A lazy day – or doing whatever you want, lol – sounds perfect to me. My day was much the same. The pie does look and sound yummy! Those newest hexes flowers are pretty – they make me want to start a new project!

The strawberry pie looks yummy! I love your cute little hexie flowers. And your bouquet is lovely.

I am busy playing catch up after being out of town all weekend at a motorcycle rally with Dan. It was lots of fun.

That pie looks so delicious! A nut crust would be such a good change from graham crackers. I sewed some hexies yesterday too. They are just right for some quiet hand stitching time.

Love the hanging plants. We don’t try to maintain hanging plants — it is so hot here and they would be in a lot of sun. But I enjoy seeing others. Looks like you are making good progress on all your projects.

Your strawberry pie looks great, thanks for sharing the recipe. Did you enjoy the nut crust? So pleased you had a lovely Mothers Day. Mine was quiet too, and it was lovely that I had contact with both my son and daughter.

Your porch looks like a perfect place to sit and relax. That pie looks delicious. I really need to get some herbs growing and see if I can keep them alive. I love how you have yours on your patio.
