Noriko’s Star

The last time I showed this quilt it looked like this – Noriko’s Star – I don’t remember who it was but someone asked a short while ago where could they get the pattern.  There is no pattern available I saw it on Pinterest and I’m copying the photo.  I do not claim the pattern as mine.  As far as I know the quilt was made by a Japanese quilter and there were no links to it on Pinterest.  She had made it in darker taupe colors.  It actually is easier to copy a hexagon pattern than one would think.  Just find the center of the quilt and start to map it out – I never drew it out, I am going by the photo.   I started with the center element and went from there.  On some it might be easier to go row by row.  Linking to My Quilt Infatuation —Wednesday Wait Loss —

I have enough hexies thread basted now for the next section of white with flowers and will work on layout today

I will clear the dining room table off today and spread it out and make sure I have the line up right.

Because of off and on storms and not sure if we would have lightening or not I didn’t get done with much at the sewing machine as I kept unplugging it – the photo is crooked I see but I did get done with half of it.  I will finish this one today (finally I think no storms – we will see) and see about starting another.  I know I have some blueberries to pick today but won’t take long there isn’t a lot of them right now.

Quilting on the Carpenter’s Wheel from Tuesday night almost got the side border done but when I’m tired I quit – there is always the next day of the week to quilt!

Another hexie quote – like this quote I find sewing and quilting put the stress aside and you think of other things.

When I wasn’t sewing I was reading my new on Kindle book – by Nora Roberts – Mind Games – it is pulling me in!  I read so many kindle unlimited books that I don’t pay for a book very often anymore but I preordered this one as I knew I would want it in my library – I do read books more than once

I took advantage of the 25% off at Connecting Threads last night and order a backing for the design wall quilt – I have a very large piece put aside for the NYB but nothing for the smaller one.  I think the sale at Green Fairy is for another 3 days but not sure!

This latest row around Noriko’s Star is so sweet and really sets off the whole quilt. I love Kindle Unlimited. I always disliked the idea of paying full price for a book I might not enjoy. Kindle Unlimited alleviates that concern altogether.

I enjoy anything you write about Noriko’s Star and always love seeing updates about it. It is so interesting how you got started on it. Looks like your forecast is about the same as ours is today. Enjoy those blueberries!

I can’t find any new words to say about Noriko’s Star, it’s just so pretty and full of love!

I love the pretty little flowers going into Noriko’s Star now. I checked my dad’s blueberry bushes yesterday. I didn’t see any ripe ones yet, but the bushes are full!

I forgot that Mind Games came out this week! I’ll have to get it – I always like her books. Noriko’s Star is amazing! That next batch of hexie flowers for it are so pretty. Theymaking me want to start an EPP project!

I’ll have to check out Mind Games. But I may save the reading of it for when I’m kitty sitting in June and have more free time then when I’m home. Noriko’s Star is really an amazing quilt, well worth the long term commitment. You’ve done so well at keeping it moving.

It’s so interesting reading about how you started it. I often see a quilt – esp vintage ones- and enjoy working out the pattern for myself, but nothing has been as tricky at what you have accomplished. Love following along as you progress with your wonderful Noriko Star quilt.

So many pretty projects underway! Noriko’s Star is coming along so nicely, and the quilting on Carpenter’s Wheel is perfection! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
