Almost Done

If I had planned on working off and on all day on this Scrappy Crossroads it would be done already – doing one block only a day I have 3 blocks left to do.  I started it July 30th- it is really going quickly even at one block a day – I think the border will be a strip of a black print, then a slightly wider strip of a stripe print and then finish with a black strip.  A total of maybe 2 inches to 3 inches for border width.

A little baby Afghan was finished in the granny stitch – that stitch is so easy – if I only did this stitch maybe I would finish yarn projects for sure LOL.  I still have 2 skeins of this yarn left to use on something.

This part was quilted on Tuesday night on The Carpenter’s Wheel – I was watching a little tv finishing up a show  I am almost finished with a series on Prime called “The Man in the High Castle” have any of you watched it?  It is interesting but very strange I also just for fun googled what JAG episodes years ago did they do the spinoff for NCIS with Gibbs and Tony and found it free on Netflix – I had about a half an hour left of it to watch last night and then I was done – it was funny to see them so young.  I always loved that show.  It must be almost time for the fall shows to start once again – I know last year they were late because of the writer’s strike I haven’t looked to see when they all start this year.  I feel I am watching less and less of these shows but still like NCIS although it is only McGee and Dr. Jimmy that are from the very early years of the show on it now.  I need to find a new series to watch.

I rolled the quilt down and this much left to do.  I will quilt up to the black border this time around and then roll it down one more time to reach the border comfortable.  That is all straight lines so that last bit will go faster.

The last of the tomatoes have finally ripen – well except for one little one – the ones in the bowl can go another couple days before I use them as they are orange not red – just about there though – it was a long season for them.

I’m not sure what I will crochet next or try to knit LOL – but whatever it is it will not be a huge project – I think I will stick to simple!!

Wow, you are almost done, what’s next for quilting? For TV series we loved Annika on PBS. I think the third series comes out this fall. If you donate anything to PBS you get a Passport and can watch all the shows, new and old.

I have watched The Man in the High Castle. If I remember correctly, it was before the pandemic. I really enjoyed it.

Projects are all looking good, Karen!

It seems the quilt on the wall went together very quickly to me. It’s wonderful! I used to be able to make a granny square. Now you have me wondering if I can make a baby blanket like that. So pretty!

We watched The Man in the High Castle – it was definitely interesting, but also kind of strange as you said! I’m looking for a new show for us, too, but no good ideas at the moment. I like NCIS, and we also watched NCIS:Sydney this past year. It was a new series after the strike was over. Did you ever watch Bull? It was Michael Weatherly (Tony) as a lawyer – I really liked that one. Cute little afghan! I’d like to learn that stitch.

You’ve been busy on multiple fronts. Your scrappy blocks are looking good. Hope you’ve been able to enjoy a bit of porch time this week. It has been so nice in the mornings.

Boy that one went fast – it is looking really good on your wall. That Carpenter’s Wheel block looks so pretty. I pulled a couple tomatoes yesterday. I have 3 in the fridge to cook into something. I never did pull the vines, so there are a few little green ones left and lots of blooms on the ends of the vines, but I don’t foresee many more actually making tomatoes. I really like that little afghan.

Both of your projects are nearing the finish line. I wonder what next month’s color will be for your other blocks.

There is nothing wrong with keeping it simple! I’ve started knitting a new blue cardigan but it’s not coming out right, I think the pattern is weird. Or maybe it’s just me not reading it correctly. So I’ll be looking for a new pattern and starting again so frustrating.

Those Crossroads blocks look great. That’s a pretty crochet blankie. Your quilting on the Carpenter’s Wheel leaves me awestruck as I’ve never been able to master hand quilting . Impressive.

I’ve been busy and missed a lot in blogland, again. Love your Scrappy Crossroads. (My bucket list is getting longer! lol). Pretty baby afghan, doesn’t it feel good using up some yarn?!
