Quilts and Logs

Seeing as yesterday’s post didn’t have the new progress in it that is all today’s post is.

The very center of the Log Cabin quilt had pieces added but truthfully I didn’t work on it yesterday at all these blocks were done on Saturday.

The plan right now is to finish the 5th row and then make a couple all neutral blocks to replace a few here and there that were too dark.  Then I will sew these five rows together to get it up off the floor.  I might then sew a row at a time on to the quilt so that I can lay it out to get progress photos – the lower half sides just get cut off to easily in this room,

Fewer and fewer hexagons to thread baste for Noriko’s Star but I will wait to sew any together until I get the Christmas stuff put away.  I normally leave my flannel board laying out on the coffee table to work and the Xmas centerpiece takes up way too much room to share it.  I will start clean up any day now and it will still take me several days to get these stitched anyhow.  I probably have about 20-30 pieces there although it might look like less.

Scrappy Crossroads – progress from Friday night and Saturday night

I was told by one blogger that I showed up as a no-reply blogger when I left a comment has that happened anywhere else? I’m wondering if something got messed up with all the internet issues I had for the past 2-3 weeks.  I will watch closely when I leave a comment and see if I need to change something.  Hopefully now that we are on Starlink all the issues will be done and over with.

I think I mentioned that my granddaughter is traveling right now so we didn’t see her at Christmas time – she still has almost 2 weeks to go in her travels.  Her father joined up with her for the rest of her time a couple days ago.

Thanks for the comments on the end of the year quilts.  I think I will probably take that star border off of the Rose Garden that I started and check and see what fabric and how much I have for plain borders to make it larger and maybe add some applique – I forgot to mention I have 5 of the “rose” blocks leftover and will use those in the corners I think.  That might be what I work on next to get it done and out of the way!

You’ve been moving along on all your projects. Sounds like you’ve got a good plan for moving forward with Rose Garden. I’m hoping for sunny skies today, it’s been way to dreary here since Christmas.

Your granddaughter is so cute! Looks like she is having a great time, look at that glow on her face. Is she climbing mountains or just viewing them?
All your projects look so pretty.
It’s windy here today, supposed to get colder tonight and be cooler for a few days.

I think the comment problem is something Blogger did to everyone for “privacy issues” is what they say. I also show up as a no-reply blogger, and pretty much everyone does. I think people can actually reply to your comment – your reply-to email is shown in the information that is there if you expand the little arrow by our name in the comment. I haven’t figured out any other changes that we can make – but I also haven’t had any problem replying to people either. It’s one of those dumb, frustrating things that Blogger will do every now and then, and who knows why!

I don’t think you need to change anything on your end. Everyone is showing up as no reply but if we have your email in our address book we can just click on reply and your name and email come up in the address line.

Everybody who leaves me a comment is a no reply blogger anymore! Your Grand daughter looks so young to be traveling alone, where is she at?

Your granddaughter is so cute and looks like she’s having a good time. The star in the log cabin looks great. I went through the no reply blogger once, but can’t remember how I fixed it. You can probably google and find some help. Are you liking Starlink so far?

Your log cabin quilt looks great. We traditionally put away our Christmas decorations New Year’s Day. It was pretty simple this year and shouldn’t take long.

I love the log cabin on the wall, but it sure is huge !!
And when you show close ups of the quilt on the frame, I enjoy seeing all the different fabrics—-sometimes I see “mine” in the mix 🙂
