I Meant to do More

But I just didn’t get around to it!!  I will never get done with the Rose Garden if I don’t get myself in gear and move on it.  No excuse for not much done yesterday other than I didn’t sleep well, I had an appointment that was running very late, a quick stop at Wal-Mart after that and before you know it, it was almost 2 PM before I was getting myself some lunch and doing laundry.

I did sit down and do one more 6×6 section for the top border I would say 3 more of these sections to do – maybe the last one will be 5×6 – I’m not actually measuring these – they are all estimates for using the 2.5 inch blocks and if it is a little too big I make a couple larger seams here and there and it works out good. Those sections aren’t noticeable unless I would point them out.  I am linking to Patchwork & Quilts link up today.

More hexies were thread basted while we watched the news after supper – I have a small stack left to do.

In the container – the ones on the top are the ones I was finishing.

Quilting on New York Beauty from Thursday night was in this area

And last night I started working in this area – so back to some more colorful stuff but mainly the last of the width of the border still all the way across.

It is hard to fathom that those sections are 6×6 – they look larger to me in the photo. You are right, we sure don’t notice any odd sizes – they all look perfect.
We have a “warm” front draped across us right now that is supposed to be pushed away by the cold front passage around noon – can’t wait! 😀

Your patchwork border looks perfectly put together to me. As busy as your day was, you were still able to get something done in the sewing room. Pretty NYB!

Some days are just like that for all of us! Each time you add a section to the Rose Garden border, you move it on a little farther. That blue in the border of NYB is so pretty! It’s fun to see it as you quilt.

Lovely hand quilting. This is going to be beautiful!

Any little bit done is a win in the studio for me. No progress feels like an empty day, a little done is closer to done. Thread basting the hexies is one day closer to making a section too. It sounds like it will be icy here today so no venturing out for me.

Some days are like that; but, you made it into the sewing room inspire of all the delays! I like your latest add! It looks perfect to me!

Some days just go that way. It’s afternoon before you know it. Looks like you still made progress on your other projects at least.

Any little bit stitched helps to get to the finish. Rose Garden is just gorgeous. I like all of your other projects as well. Enjoy your stitching.

The border is growing nicely, even if you don’t see it this way. Love the quilting of NYB, and the small hexies always in the move. Thank you for sharing your week and work in progress!

You will get it done. Sometimes it just takes being away a little or making a little progress each day. It is a beautiful quilt and the addition of the extra solid border was a good choice. I admire your pace…mine is much slower these days.
