On To The Border

Finally Georgetown on My Mind is ready to start border work.  If I have enough gray that is.  Now that the blocks are done and my table is cleared off I need to sort through the gray, read the instructions and see what I have.  If I remember right the next step is to sew these blocks together – I moved a few around and added the aqua block to the wall.

I don’t know if I will get to that today or not as I still need to get the binding done on New York Beauty – I might do that hand stitching today for Slow Sunday Stitching with Kathy also linking to Kates’ Life in Pieces .  I did get a little more work on the hexies done but I have 23 more rows to add to this after I get up to the red flower – I just need to thread baste more hexies first!  Remember it gets narrower and narrower as we get to the top.

Hand Quilting on The Rose Garden from Friday night – this side was finished and I moved back over to the middle.

And I did more of the cross hatch in the squares which is where I picked up last night.

That’s it for now.

It looks like you will have a hexie corner done soon! I’m loving the quilting on Rose Garden. Happy Sunday!

You have a good mix of colors on Georgetown! I am looking forward to your first hexie corner, it is looking good. The bottom row reminds me a little of rick-rack.
We had a late evening thunderstorm, and it continued to rumble and light rain all evening. We got 1.53 inches, so we don’t have to water for a couple days!

Your circle stars for Georgetown look great, all together on the wall! I scrolled back and forth to yesterday’s post where you showed the whole quilt layout and can’t quite figure out what your next block shapes will be to surround these. I’ll be interested to see what you have to make next!

I like your arrangement of the blocks. I hope you have enough gray to get started on the border.

If you don’t have enough gray I bet you could use black for the outside border.

You are making some wonderful progress on several fronts. Georgetown is really something. It’s so unusual. I hope the finishing up goes well for you. And, look at the hexagons… more progress.

Georgetown is looking good, all the blocks work together so well. You’ve been moving along with all of your active projects this month.
