I haven’t really felt much like doing much of anything the last two days. A little sewing a little reading. I watch one or two hours of Prime or Netflix in the evening trying to make sure to remember to get up and walk in between them and again before I get ready for bed but I am totally exhausted by time I hit the pillow and fall asleep fast – sometimes only to wake up at 5 or 6 still feeling tired and end up falling asleep on the couch until Mike gets up. I know sleeping is healing time to but I normally do not sleep so much!!
I did find a new audio book that I think will be good and it is more than 16 hours long – that should keep me entertained a couple days or more. I got it with a free credit on Audible is it called “We are All Guilty Here” it is by Karin Slaughter the author of the Will Trent/Sarah books – It is a stand alone book not a series – I will let you all know if it is good – I think I like all of her books so I doubt I will be disappointed with it.
I got a little more done on the hexies – for some reason I have not felt like working on the applique – maybe I will get that quilt out today? The rows are getting shorter and shorter now.
I have the next pieces ready that I was thread basting last night – seeing as there are only 10 pieces in this one I assume I started to put the row together last night.
And yes we had cooler weather at the end of August – such a rare thing to happen this time of year – we got down to 64 degrees for awhile in the afternoon while it was raining straight down – we opened the windows and left some of the windows open over night – they will probably be open today too. I don’t know if it will happen but the weather channel says 62 last night and 58 Tuesday night – that will probably set a record. Took this photo in the early afternoon before it dropped more – nice!!

That’s good you are sleeping well. Are you able to sleep in your bed now? I like Karin Slaughter, I look forward to reading what you think about it. We didn’t get the front until late evening and now it is light rain and 68°. We had the patio door open for awhile this morning, but it is so humid! It is supposed to get back up in the 90s by tomorrow and Thursday, then back down in the 80s for the rest of the week. Yes it is very unusual but welcome!
Hang in there Karen! Your big comeback is on the way. And the hexies are growing again!!! Another corner soon!
They showed the cool area going quite a way south on the weather map last night. It was 52 here this morning with a 48 dew point, such a change after the mid 70s dew points we have endured this summer.
Not much farther to go on the hexie corner. It looks like the perfect project to work on as you heal.
It looks to me like the hexies are the perfect thing to work on right now – small with not a lot of weight to them. The applique on the other quilt will still be waiting patiently for you when you’re ready! I have liked a lot of Karin Slaughter’s books, too – glad you found a new one to listen to. I finally got The First Gentleman, that I think you said you were reading awhile back. It’s got me hooked!
Yes your body is needing the sleep right now, surgery takes a lot out of us for sure. Nice that you had your handwork all ready for recoup time. Wow that is kinda cool for you guys already. I think it is a little early too, but we’ll be in the 70’s for daytime for the week now a good temp!
How nice to have cooler weather during your recovery. Hope the book is super good as there’s nothing like getting lost in a really good book to keep you awake and focused.
Yes, sleeping is a good thing after your operation. I think we sometimes underestyhow these procedures effect the body, especially as we are getting older. I love reading Karin Slaughter’s book, she is a real favourite of mine. Although I’ve never tried an audio book. I enjoy holding the book in my hands and turning the pages!
The hexies are looking great, Mom. I really, really love the background fabric a little more every time I see it. Just love the subtle splash of dots on the white. ?? ?
I like Karin Slaughter books so I look forward to your assessment of this one.
