Second Corner Done

I sewed hexies off and on all day yesterday and by late afternoon I was done with it.

I usually lay it on the floor to spread pieces out to see where it gets pinned into but this time I laid it out on the bed.  Got it situated right and pinned the first piece in place so I get started in the right spot.  Linking to Patchwork/Quilting at Frederique’s in France.

The black line of hexies is where it will be sewed at. It is a long line.  Up to the red and dark blue hexie.

I took a walk outside today and after the 5 1/2″ of rain yesterday we did not have even one puddle in the yard it was that dry out there.  Zinnia’s growing from seed from last year and one rose. So overgrown with weeds this year – I will try to take care of it next spring.

The Rose of Sharon after near death is back to life and will bloom nicely this fall.

That corner came together quickly. Glad to hear you are getting out to walk a bit. Take care.

That new corner looks great! Concentrating on just one project at a time (as I did with that paper pieced quilt top this summer) really pays off, even if it’s a bit tedious. Glad to know you’re feeling better.

I am excited for you! That’s a huge accomplishment! Glad your rose of Sharon came back.

Two corners done – that’s great! This one looks good. I finally grew some zinnias from seed this year – they are so pretty! Next year, I hope to plant a bunch more. Are you getting out to the store today? I bet you’ll enjoy a change of scenery!

That quilt already looks great on your bed. Glad you got to walk outside. Is it pretty humid there too? Hubs has chosen this most humid time to paint our kitchen barstools and coffee buffet – not sure they will ever dry!
Isn’t it nice to find blooms and growth after rain? Our morning glories are doing a late blooming thing now, so much so that I don’t want to pull them down yet.

Recovery time is great for handwork, isn’t? Unfortunately, my surgery has been on my hands and I just can’t do it right now. But I have really enjoyed seeing your progress on this hexi quilt. Amazing!

That is amazing that much rain could soak into the ground so quickly. We keep hoping for a larger amount of rain but only light rain (if we get any at all) is predicted.

Wow! That was a quick job getting the second corner done. The flowers from seed are so pretty. I need to start weeding and throw some seeds down and see what happens. No puddles after that much rain? I expect that where I am but I thought you had less sand there. I guess it was dry and needed that rain.

This corner is beautifull and I’m glad that you can walk outside, after the surgery. Take care, and enjoy the flowers! Thank you for sharing and linking up.
