Under the Big Top

I started on the applique of the second corner of this quilt on Saturday night and finished it on Sunday.  So one half of the applique is now done.

When I get done I will have someone help me get it back on the design wall and get a good look at it and decide from there about the next borders – easy for sure – pretty sure it will be strips of red and gray to finish it off.

I did get to the store this weekend and felt totally wiped out taking my first longer that usual walk for the last 2 1/2 weeks other than short walks around the yard and the house.  I might not have been quite up to it and legs were a bit shaky afterwards – but day to day week to week I hope it all snaps back and I am able to get more active.

I bet you will see much improvement in the next week or two. Do you have pain or just the tired/weak feeling?

Big Top looks pretty draped over your sofa. Love the view of the flowers blooming outside, and your book cases are so nice. On days that we walk and then go to the store, I’m always amazed at how many more steps we get. Between the parking lots and the big stores, there is a lot of walking.

Look at all the pretty colors!! I hope you get stronger and stronger!

It sounds like you really are making progress on your recovery, but it may not always feel like it. Big top is very appropriately named!

That is definitely pretty with all the color! I like those circles sprinkled here and there. Glad you got out to the store just to see how it felt. I would think that kind of outing to the store and back once in awhile would help you get stronger as you do it more and more.

We all do that, don’t we……do more than we probably should and pay for it? In all, I’m pretty amazed at your progress both quilt wise and recovery wise considering the surgery you had.

Beautiful Big Top. It sounds like you are making great progress. They say the first month is bad, are you still experiencing pain? My surgery is tomorrow so I’m right behind you. I brought all my hand sewing down from my upstairs sewing room.

It’s nice that you had the hand sewing lined up for your recovery time. It gives you time to think about future projects while still getting something to the finish line.

Under the Big Top is looking good! Recovery from knee or back surgery is so slow. Hopefully your healing will speed up soon.

Big Top looks gorgeous! Recovery is always two steps forward and one step back, but it’s still progress moving in the right direction. You will be back to your usual frisky self in no time!

Big Top looks quite big! Love all the rainbow colour. Slowly slowly, but you are still making good progress all in the right direction.

Recovery is certainly a process. I did find there were times I just had to push a little harder, whether it was recommended or not, but the slow and steady was the best approach. Congrats on getting this far, and glad you are feeling much better.
