Flannel and Hexies

I didn’t get around to sewing anything on the flannels but I do have one tree cut out – I’m not sure if I will like it in this color but I’m giving it a shot.

If I don’t like it I have enough fabric still to make four trees – the one above would make 5 but I only need 4 more.  So after I get the burgundy/purple made I will put it on the wall and keep making more and decide later which to put aside and that one could be made into a pillow or maybe a table runner with a border.

The hexies last corner is coming along and the 2 longest rows are done.  I had this much accomplished by late afternoon

I finished it up later in the evening when we were watching the evening news.

A little more on The Rose Garden and I’m ready for the cross hatching on the squares on the border.  Last time it moved along quickly we will see if this one does too.

I love the burgundy/purples. You got such a nice mix of flannels. I got a tree block done except for sewing on the heart, and I’m waiting for thread to applique it. It is a darker red, which for some reason I have never purchased thread that color. Seems like your hexies are zooming! Rose Garden quilting looks really nice.

You are getting so very close to finishing Noriko’s Star. I has been a long journey but such a beautiful top.

The purple/burgundy tree is fun! It’s good you have enough flannels to see if you like this one and make another if not. The quilting on Rose Garden looks really pretty! You’re moving along pretty well on that now – hope your back is feeling good after a quilting session.

You could add a couple dark greens or a green and blue into the purple tree for a little more interest.
I’m sure it’s fun to get to the part with only crosshatching.

Depending on the placement of the tree, it might look very nice. From your other post, the Noriko’s Star is looking amazing. One more corner!

I agree with that bold colour choice too. Probably add deeper tones and extra interest to the overall look. Lovely neat hexagons, Karen.

I hope the burgundy tree works. Those fabrics are so pretty!

I think the burgundy will be nice, but you must like it! Hooray for the two long rows done on the last corner!
