The March RSC color is red and I (so far) am making two of each color March is done and I have -12.5 inch blocks done – Flowering Snowball is ready to be put away again for a month while I work on some of the other 6-7? projects that I am or going to be working on. I’m out of design wall space so it back to the design floor for some of the quilts. Linking to Wednesday Wait Loss
Another progress – Jigsaw Puzzle – I started the 3rd row. The 4 rows will be uneven and when it comes time to applique to a background I will decide if I will use as is or if I will be adding more pieces to the sides to get a more even appearance.
I mentioned I was going to join up with the 25 week Sewcialtes3 quilt and I got my first block done – this one is the 9.5″ and there is one more block to catch up on. After that the new block is announced on Fridays. I hope to keep up. I decided to not follow their layout as I really didn’t care for that but I thought it would be fun to make the Friday blocks. There are 3 different sizes for people to chose from – some I might make in more sizes as an idea Wanda gave me sounded good of mixing and matching – like alternate blocks could be made up of three 3″ blocks and a six inch block. I really don’t want to call this quilt Sewcialites3 – name of a group to me not a quilt. So seeing as this is more French General fabric I think for now I will refer to it as The General!
Noriko’s Star from Sunday night
The plants are so into the warmer weather right now that I am just positive we will get hit with a cold spell and hope it won’t hurt the blossom that are already out there. So far the weeping cherry tree that that been damaged 2 years ago and lost all of the leaf’s off the tree from a late frost has not had any blossoms anywhere near opening and I hope it stays that way. Last year we pruned off dead branches and have an odd shaped tree now and had some leaf’s on it. I won’t mind if it holds off a couple more weeks before it does anything. In the meantime the blueberry bushes which struggled through last years late frost are getting blossoms and will need to be covered up good if it freezes.
We saw our first lizard this very early spring and a bumble bee! Mike got bit by some mosquitoes can you believe that!! On March 3rd yesterday.

Your red blocks are all really pretty – I especially like the star block for the Sewcialites quilt. The General is a cute name for that project! You caught a great photo of the bee on the hyacinth. We finally had measurable rain yesterday for the first time in a very long time – it was SO nice!
The flowering snowballs look great! We popped the heat and the azelias are in bloom. Late and long freezes have knocked out local blueberries and palm trees. We will see how things green up.
Flowering Snowball is gorgeous, well everything you stitch is gorgeous so that’s not news. I love to see all your projects and it goes without saying, admire your stitching. Wow, I can’t believe how far into spring you are already. We have banks of snow and more extreme cold and snow in the forecast. No break for us just yet.
The red blocks turned out beautifully. I like having lots of projects on the go, keeps things interesting. You can always trim back later if it gets overwhelming.
Our little lizard often runs through rocks or climbs on the wall here. But yesterday he was cuddled up right next to the casita.
Nice to see all the snowball blocks together. Sounds like a good plan for the Sewcialites. Did I tell you I planted onion sets yesterday? There were about 50 sweet onions, and I watered them in and anticipate them getting good rain this week. I have a tomato plant ready to put in the ground, but it’s just too soon. That’s a great flower photo.
The General quilt will be pretty. You have a good variety of reds and whites.
Spring has arrived in your area. We are going to have colder weather around the middle of March but they didn’t say how cold. Meanwhile we are above normal for about 10 days.
I love looking at your garden! Those snowball blocks sure are pretty, as is your first Sewcialites block. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

I downloaded the sewcialites blocks as I really have so many fabric stashes that could use some incentive, even from the last project, SAHRR. So maybe I will be sewing along!
