A Couple More Blocks

I decided to look around at my 6″ dies from Accuquilt to see about making a couple blocks from those to fill in for the Sewcialite3 quilt instead of the blocks that don’t call to me.

I laid all of The General out on the table – not in any particular order to see what I have – I don’t remember now how many weeks this is to take place – I will need to check.  I made the one next to the row of 3 – 3″ blocks yesterday during the very hot hit 90 degrees afternoon.  It was a rather easy block to do.  Some of the fill in between blocks might be plain squares, rectangles, etc.  They don’t all have to be pieced blocks.

Also another block for Honey, Honey was made – the white square (1″) there is just to show that you use the squares in the connecting spots.  These will vary back and forth on light or dark depending on the colors they are next to.

Noriko’s Star had more work done on it Saturday night.

Today will not be a sewing day I have to run to Little Rock for my regular check up with my Rheumatologist and also get my Prolia injection for osteoporosis and time for my bone density test that I get every 2 years.  I try to line up everything on one day so I don’t have to run back another day.  When I am done with everything we will run over to Sam’s to stock up and then on the way home stop to get something to eat.  I will sit down to quilt in the evening most likely.

Thank goodness we will be back to March weather and it will be about 70 degrees – so much better than the 90 we had yesterday – that was unbelievable hot for March and it broke records everywhere in the state I think.  Most records that were broke dated back to the 1920’s.  I sure hope we are not in for a hot dry summer – if so I can tell I will need to stop being lazy in the morning and get my outside work done first thing in the AM and then sew in the afternoon.  They do say another hot day or two is coming up later in the week.

I like that new block for the General that you came up with! It sounds like you could use any 3.5, 6.5, or 9.5 inch block that you like for this sampler quilt – made in the French General fabric. Have a good day – at least there is a little shopping and a meal out to look forward to!

Sorry you’ve been having a heat wave – it has been snowing off and on for a couple of days. The roads this morning were icy but I just had to get out and get some groceries. Since we’ve been away 2 weeks, I haven’t done any sewing and didn’t even pick up the knitting I took along. I did knit yesterday, and today I hope to get back into the sewing room. Good luck with your various appointments!

That might be fun making a lot of simpler 6″ blocks with your Qube.
We are back to March weather too, starting out with 30 this morning and going up to mid 40s with wind.
I hope your appointments are all on time so they line up well.

We made it well into the 90s yesterday too. Ugh! It seems like during the last two weeks both of us have had annual, semi-annual and quarterly medical appointments to navigate into our schedules. Hopefully, they will slow down.

You have got a busy day with your health appointments all lined up in a row. It certainly is sensible to get everything attended to on the same day.

The General blocks are working out really nicely. I like that you showed us the square in the center of the honeycombs, that will be pretty! Glad you were able to schedule everything together, and yay on stopping for a bite. Hubs had a doctor appointment this morning to discuss labs. We are enjoying a much milder day too.

Your General blocks are looking good. That is such a pretty fabric line, having to use a block of just fabric here and there should work out perfectly. Yeah I’m hoping the hot weekend is not a harbinger of what summer looks like.

Great idea, breaking out the AccuQuilt Qube to sub out for unwanted blocks in your sampler. I love how your “Honey, Honey” is coming along (and of course as soon as I read the name of it, the song pops into my head and now it will be an earworm for the rest of the week “Honey, honey, how you thrill me, ah-hah, honey, honey”… ;-). Hope your medical errands all went smoothly so you can have a nice sewing day tomorrow.

I hope all of your appointments went well! I prefer it when I can line up a lot of appointments and errands on one day.
