I started the day out with folding laundry that I forgot I had in the dryer yesterday. Do you ever do that – forget all about it? I had started laundry before we left for Mike’s dental appointment and then it stretched out longer than expected and waiting for the pain prescription at the pharmacy later that by time we got home I had totally forgotten about the laundry until I went to take a shower – where were the towels LOL ok, go back to the laundry room get a load of laundry out of the dryer and get the towels in the dryer to take out in the morning. So I started the day folding laundry. Then it was outside to pick strawberries because it looked like it might rain
I got a quart of berries! they look so good might be strawberry shortcake time. Some are quite red, red but if I wait until then there are little bites out of them here and there – not sure what is getting them because there are nets and wiring over all of them – the birds can’t get through never can the rabbits if they get inside the garden which they shouldn’t be – I would think they are protected from the squirrels to so I guess it is slugs or something? Anyhow I will try to pick them before something takes a bite.
I got one block (9.5″) almost done of The General before I got up to stretch and move around and never came back (I picked up the kindle of course that was the reason) I will finish it today and then take a photo – this one is pretty easy so I need to look over what I have I think some of the other sizes might be good to add.
Other times in the day I was stitching on Honey, Honey – this is what I have now the top row is ready to be sewed in place block by block – I’ve been trying stitching rows but I think it might be easy doing one at a time instead. The little squares the bottom of each of these four are just sitting there to see if I liked them, I do so the little squares will be attached before I start stitching the blocks.
One of the last ones that I was working on was cute and the print didn’t show up good in that top photo. I like having the little bird head in there.
Noriko’s Star from Tuesday night.
The iris’s near the garden are all getting ready to open now – it might rain so I hope they won’t get too damage. One of these years I need to get a few more colors – get those trees out and try to add in more
I had mentioned to Wanda -Exuberant Color – that I hadn’t even noticed my hosta’s when I saw she posted hers and they should be up as I’m always about a month ahead on plants being straight down south from Illinois – I had to go look — yes I have hosta’s but there is so much variegated vinca all over that I can barely see the hosta’s now. Both have been there for years and last year I had noticed the vinca was going crazy and it is worse this year. There is monkey grass in there too, volunteer trees, Virginia creeper, you name it it has gotten in here.

Those strawberries look delicious! With Honey, Honey, are you going to make blocks of 9 units and then sew them together or just keep adding to the mother ship? We are having warm weather now and the early flowers are blooming.
Those strawberries are so beautiful and I bet they are fragrant. Makes me want to plant a whole bed of them, although I’ve never had much luck with them. Do you happen to remember what variety they are?
Honey Honey is really growing, love the bird on that one.
I saw a report of wind early this morning near your town. We had a severe thunderstorm warning last night, but the hail and heavy rain stayed just about a mile north of us – we only got 1/4 inch, so that makes almost 1/2 inch this week. Not nearly enough but oh well.
Your strawberries are nice! I have forgotten about laundry in the dryer—in fact, just a few weeks ago I was hunting for my favorite jeans, and they had been in the dryer for a few days. Good luck with the volunteer trees—they seem to be worse than ever this year.
Lol, I have a load of laundry waiting for me in the dryer this morning! Your strawberries look amazing, and I love the Honey block with the bird and strawberries in it. The new General block is a pretty one, too. I love your last photo with all the green in it – hostas, vinca, and everything else. I’m hoping to work a bit in my flower garden today!
Your strawberries look delicious.
That block for The General would look good in all of the sizes.
Your Hosta is a pretty variety. I agree the Vinca is an aggressive ground cover. I had it totally dug out of my front garden, but some that I had pulled out and threw on a weed pile in the backyard rooted and now it is back there along with Lily of the Valley.
Such a lot of beautiful strawberries in your bucket, they look delicious!
You can’t turn you back on the gardens, can you? We had vinca vines at our old house and they spread all through the flower beds…. I was forever pulling it out but the worst were the trees! We had a huge black walnut tree and the squirrels buried them everywhere.
Strawberry shortcake sounds delicious! Enjoy ?
Your strawberries look so pretty, hopefully that taste even better than they look. We’ve had 2 rounds of hail with the storms on Wednesday night, thankfully it was only nickel sized, but the roses that had bloomed didn’t survive it. Honey, Honey is looking good and so is your French General block. The fabrics in both projects is interesting and so pretty.
