Ok – this block for Mercantile Sampler caused so many problems it is unreal – but the main part is now done and I just have to put the border on it and then turn this thing into a circle. I won’t even say how many times I turned a block the wrong way.
Fabric is cut for the next row of Honey, Honey and one unit is thread basted ready for stitching which I will do today for Slow Sunday Stitching with Kathy if she puts her link up – I will check later as she hadn’t put her post up yet when I looked late morning that is unusual for her. Quilting on Noriko’s Star from Friday night
I did go to the garden by early afternoon to look and see if anything needed to be taken care of and checked the berries and pulled some weeds – they can wait until this afternoon or Monday to be picked. I think they are starting to slow down already. Or maybe it might just be a couple cloudy days that have slowed them down. I was planting some green pepper plants where I had some space by the blueberries bushes because they are rather thin and won’t block the light – this plant has quite a lot on it and I had thought all the blossoms had fallen off at first without forming berries first but I was wrong – this is just part of them but I only have two bushes with berries on them out of 8 so I still won’t get more than maybe a weeks worth of tossing them in my yogurt and granola in the mornings.

Those blocks with lots of HSTs are a challenge to keep them all going in the right direction. Your tree turned out nicely once you got the kinks worked out. At least you’ll get some blueberries this year. Enjoy your slow stitching today.
That is a pretty block – I see how it would be easy to turn a block the wrong way. I forgot – did you cover the blueberries, or will you have to fight the birds for the berries?
We’ve been in near constant lightning and thunder since 3am, with 2 severe t-storm warnings. Some towns around us got up to 1.5″ hail, but we only got a smattering of pea-size, thank goodness. The tornadic storms yesterday went a different direction, so we are thankful for that.
Good thing you are almost done with making those mercantile blocks, I’ve noted that a few of them made you have a date with Jack:( But a good thing you have caught them before the quilting process has begun.
All those little HSTs can be tricky to get straight! But you persisted and it looks great! That is a pretty blue print for the Honey block, and love the fussy cut center, too. One of these days you’re going to have a bowl full of homegrown blueberries – so yummy!
That is a cute pine tree block. It will make a good addition to the quilt.
Yep it looks like a very tricky block! Must admit I really like it though.
Love how that block turned out. Glad you worked through the issues. I see kathy still has not posted. I hope she is ok.
Nice pine tree block, even if it did give you trouble. Only two more mercantile blocks to go! Blueberries…yum!
I’d get confused with a lot of HST’s, as well. Nice block. Blueberries with yoghurt and granola….yum! Love, love, love that pretty blue floral for Honey Honey. Another gorgeous quilt in the works, it seems.
Those HSTs in the pine tree are great looking! I too have managed to turn an HST in a way that was different from the pattern! You choose the best fabrics for your projects! The Honey Honey block is a great example of your expertise!
