A Busy Day

I got some sewing and some canning done.  I should have done more sewing but I kept getting back to my chair to read my book.  Sewing has been going kind of slow lately.  I thought I would do more this summer than what I have been doing.  Off and on my post is not automatically scheduling as it should I try to check sometime in the morning to see if it did – if you don’t see check in later in the day I don’t think I remembered to check yesterday until the middle of the morning and it wasn’t there so had to go in and edit it.  Linking to Jennifer’s Wednesday Wait Loss

I did get the beige border on Timeless – one more to go a green one and them I can take a short break from it until I get my package for part 3.

I did a little to get started on the next row of Honey, Honey.  Eight units to make and I have them all stacked up.

A little quilting on the Broken Star from Monday night – I got started late so only did a half of block (actually a quarter because each one I’m reaching only half way through to quilt.

I had forgotten to do a review on the chair I had bought back in early May when we took a short trip and I got to try it out at the Missouri Star Quilt Company in Hamilton Missouri.  I order it from Sewing Parts Online? I think that was the name of the place.  I like the chair and it does support my back which is the reason I got it.  I do have a little problem with sliding forward but I think that is all about how I sit not the chair.  I remember at that time I got it on sale and free shipping so it was a lower price than other places.

One of the main things about the chair is I have not figure out what to use the storage area for!!  It is a good size space but I’m afraid I will forget all about whatever I would put in it!!

Sweet and Spicy Tomato Relish was made.  This was a new to me recipe.  It said you can use it on sandwiches, with anything you want a little relish on I guess like crackers, maybe a slice of homemade bread? did in bread sticks.  I don’t know but I got 10 cups of chopped up tomatoes simmered down to 6 — 1/2 pints.  It has red pepper in it and sugar.  I didn’t have jalapeno but seeing as I don’t like super spicy I just went with the red pepper flakes it called for.   I doubled the recipe.  And I only have about 5 almost ripened tomatoes left and a  lot of green ones in garden.  I put the water on the plants last night – they were needing it and might do it again tonight.

At about 11 this morning and it stayed there for hours.  It was finally starting to drop around 5 at 100 and then faster by 7.  Today is to be cooler.

I think the quilting life is like that for all of us – sometimes you’re really into it and get a lot done, and other times, it slows down. It looks like you’re right on track with Timeless! Glad your new chair is turning out to be comfortable! The relish you made sounds yummy – I bet it would be good on a hamburger or bratwurst. We finally got a storm last night that gave us a little moisture and cooled down the air. Maybe more on the way today.

I agree about the chair storage…I most definitely would forget what put in it, lol.

The tomato relish sounds good. We like corn relish and eat it with tortilla chips or even on hot dogs. I’m glad the chair is working out for you. I think I told you before I have one but I don’t use the under-seat storage because I already have a habit of misplacing things!

You are right, most of us would forget what we put in the storage area under the seat.
It was in the high 80s here yesterday and today is 68 so far, 72 predicted. Every window is open. 90 predicted for Sunday. I’m so thankful for a couple cool days.

I wish my Koala had a hidden storage area;) In our other camper we had chairs like that, I kept some of my rulers in there.

Every time I see Timeless I am struck by what a pretty color scheme it is. I love the green in it.
That relish sounds good, a nice change from pickle relish. I made some bacon tomato jam a couple years ago, and it was really good. It’s good to try different things with those tomatoes. I have a big beefsteak lined up for my lunch today, and I need to fight the vines to find what has ripened in the last few days. We put the water on last night too. It was “only” 100° yesterday, down from 103° the day before. Bertha is going to miss us completely; it’s going straight west. Sigh.

I agree with you, if I had that chair the seat storage would become an accidental time capsule!
